The comments today have included:

"Oh X I normally love what you put him in but those make him look so camp" (camp??? I was shocked)

"Are those your DD's?"

"They're so feminine, he looks like a little girl with short hair"

AIBU to think it's ridiculous? He's not in a dress and tights.

@muchalover seems a bit unfair that kittens make the cut but the poor tigers don't. My dad's cat decapitated a mouse the other week and left it on his pillow- that's quite aggressive.

@DunkerOfSussex my children wear leggings all year round unless hot enough for shorts, mainly because they have tiny bottoms and normal trousers fall down.

changedmyusername6 · 23/09/2018 17:20

I thought that was in the original post btw

I'm actually fairly sure I know the leggings you're talking about and i don't think they're particularly girly but my 4 year old wasn't interested in them.
It's entirely up to you and him though! If your both happy who cares.

ShackUp · 23/09/2018 17:21

I used to put my youngest son in pink striped leggings and leggings with llamas on them. He looked absolutely spot-on in pink!! Still does, shits bright powder-paint colours (blonde/sallow). Knock yourself out! (I used to get 'what a cute girl' comments...)

Marie0 · 23/09/2018 17:21

If you dress your son in feminine clothing of course you will get comments like those! If it bothers you dress him in a more traditional blue. Of course it's up to you how you dress your child, but you can't expect to dress him in green leggings with kisses without any comments can you!?

When my youngest was about 4 I remember dressing him in red - he had these lovely curls in his hair and everyone commented what a pretty girl he was lol - I just thought it was funny! Don't understand why some people are so up tight by such trivialities in life!

Oysterbabe · 23/09/2018 17:22

They're fine but paired with the pink top it look like a girls outfit.
I'm surprised he has no opinion on his clothes, DD is 3 in December already has preferences.

ButDoYouAvocado · 23/09/2018 17:22

I like them. I think they're fine.

DunkerOfSussex · 23/09/2018 17:22

Sorry I had warm tights in my head because I was initially thinking you were talking about a baby. That thread comes up quite a lot. Sorry.

I wouldn't call those subtle and tbh wouldn't put them on any child. I think they're a bit uh for a child of any sex. Should they covered in lipstick kisses?

ShackUp · 23/09/2018 17:23

*suits. Not shits.

amymel2016 · 23/09/2018 17:24

They’re lovely OP

I have a 15 month old lb and always dress him in leggings with all sorts of patterns on them. I’ve had a couple of comments, mainly from older people, but most people have said how much they like them.

I’d far rather see children in leggings which they can move about freely in than jeans.

Harleyisme · 23/09/2018 17:25

I don't see the problem woth them at all I actually like them and I would say they are unisex. But to be honest in am not very that's girls or that's boys my dcs where what they want and feel comfortable in.

LemonysSnicket · 23/09/2018 17:25

I mean dress him in what you want but I don't see how you thought leggings with kisses on them were unisex... they are quite camp tbh

Sameoldstorytime · 23/09/2018 17:25

Never mind the print...

People put boys in leggings now????

What happened to trousers & jeans?

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 23/09/2018 17:25

I think your DS looks cool in them, I like them on him

changedmyusername6 · 23/09/2018 17:26

What does camp even mean when we are talking about a 4 year old? Hmm

Thanks for the opinions. I genuinely did just view them as unisex.

Leggings are great for little children. Boys or girls. Lots of prints and soooo comfy.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 23/09/2018 17:27

They are girly, of course they are. Dress your Ds in them if you want but don't expect people not to comment.

ShackUp · 23/09/2018 17:27

Clothes for a toddler 'camp'? Fucks sake.

They're gorgeous OP, bet he looks beaut in them.

NerrSnerr · 23/09/2018 17:27

@Sameoldstorytime trousers and jeans fall off my son so he wears dungarees or leggings. Even on the tightest setting when adjustable. My children have tiny bottoms and they just fall down.

changedmyusername6 · 23/09/2018 17:27

Honestly I can't imagine why people would comment?

Would you comment?

OP posts:
ShackUp · 23/09/2018 17:28

Jeans are shit on preschoolers. Leggings are comfy and cute. I'll dig out a pic of DS2...

MissKummerspeck · 23/09/2018 17:28

I think they look cute Smile

Harleyisme · 23/09/2018 17:28

Nerrserr i have a ds with no bum and the same problem even joggers fall down all the time on him.
