There are threads on here saying things like 'i am so lonely and i spend every weekend alone' and then further down active conversations there are other threwads saying 'i can't meet anyone nice to hang out with and i am sick if being alone'

I LONG to match these people up. Wouldn't it be fabulous?
It could be the start of a new life for them?!

I could be like cilla black and buy hats for the wedding!

Surely mumsnet are missing a trick here? Doesn't have to be a dating service , more a matching service for people wnating to meet new people of either sex to enhance their life.

Could I request an obsessive cleaner to come and sort out my shittip of a house please?

But slightly more to the point, MNetters used to hold fairly frequent meet ups. It was great back then, when the site was smaller. It's been one of the casualties of expansion.

I've been to a number of London meet ups over the years and met some lovely MNers - some of whom travelled some considerable distances!

There is a Meet Up topic here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/meetups, although it can be quite quiet.

Similarly, people try to arrange meet ups via their own Local topic - although I think many of those topics can be rather quiet too.
