I don't get why people stockpile cleaning stuff! I have 1 bottle Zoflora, 1 bleach , 1 Mr Muscle bathroom cleaner, 1 Mr Muscle window cleaner, 1 bottle of fairy liquid! Would rather have money sitting in my bank instead of my cupboard.

@Surfinbird totally!
I don't think I've ever seen her clean something dirty. The whole phenomenon is so bizarre!
Also... before Mrs Hinch, were we all stinkers who didn't clean our houses!!??

librarylover53 · 13/10/2018 20:24

Never heard of her until recently, here on MN. Took a quick peek - I don't get it, like REALLY don't get it. Has the world went mad?! Decor is awful - why is everything grey, it's an awful look, dull, bland and completely lacking in warmth or imagination! And why oh why are people going mad for someone who is literally spending her life covering her already clean house in chemicals that are dreadful for health and the environment?! Someone explain it to me PLEASE as I don't understand what I've just watched!

Surfinbird · 13/10/2018 20:57

@blackvelvetband the way her fans go on you’d think they’d never even realised cleaning was an actual ‘thing’.

That said, it is nice that she has given people the boost to start cleaning if they needed it. But I find it all a bit snoresville !!

Ariela · 13/10/2018 21:58

I might stockpile a bit of cleaning stuff (Cif, Cillit bang, Harpic black, Fairy lemon WUL and that's it) when on a very good offer, but would never buy Zoflora.

Windbeneathmybingowings · 14/10/2018 18:38

Just a thought, is it advisable to spray your sofa with fabric conditioner so regularly? Won’t it just end up a bit slimy? Does she water it down?

Givemeabreakt · 14/10/2018 19:34

Hi Wind. She does water it down, but I believe she uses a capful of fabric conditioner. I haven’t tried it as I do worry about using too many chemicals in the lounge. (I will dust using method but prefer to open windows afterwards).

nipersvest · 14/10/2018 20:42

I've read some sofa companies are a bit wary of Mrs Hinch obsessive cleaning as using that many chemicals on their fabrics may affect things like stain resistant coatings and flamability.

MaHeidsGouping · 14/10/2018 21:34

To start off with she used to spray her sofa/curtains/bed etc in diluted zoflora....needless to say her "army" from the Zoflora groups started doing it so it all kicked off when people were telling the Zoflora sprayers how dangerous it was and asked why you would spray a flammable liquid on a mattress etc.

MaHeidsGouping · 14/10/2018 21:36

She's on a roll today, I think I've counted 9 swipe ups.

JessicaPeach · 14/10/2018 21:38

I just started following little miss mops and she is swipe up mad as well. Going to unfollow.

MaHeidsGouping · 14/10/2018 21:45

I've noticed shes decided to cash in too as she has started to put a lot more swipe ups than before.

ShowerTheHorse · 14/10/2018 21:47

I've followed MrsHinch since only a few thousand followers.

At first she was really good but I agree it's all getting a bit samey now and I'm skipping her stories a lot more.

I really like LittleMissMops and Ellenokeefe. I think she's brilliant, she has 3 kids and 1 has autism she's very honest, I think anyway. And her house is just an average home like ours

Homeinspo · 14/10/2018 22:01

I like watching more 'normal' accounts who are not swipe mad!
Stepmummaclean, tidyhomeatno1, ourhomeatno25, scousequeenclean, ellenokeefe to name a few.

Some show insights to lifestyle too and have kids and not sucked into the grey phase 😂

Instacrumb · 14/10/2018 22:12

Fabric softener is actually bad for fabric because as its name suggests it conditions it so cleaning a sofa in the stuff then spraying it on daily isnt a good idea. Also it doesn't have any cleaning agents in it so is pointless for cleaning.

Zoflora is flammable so spraying that on fabric is just stupid. Hasn't anyone heard of febreeze? Grin

Homeinspo · 14/10/2018 22:12

I also found it a bit odd that she took her minkey out to dinner... seems to be taking it too far now.
It isn'rlt even funny.

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 14/10/2018 23:15

Does anyone feel bad for her that you never seem to see her with friends

She has a friend she goes shopping with, but to be honest I find the friend really annoying and not anywhere near as funny as Mrs Hinch thinks she is, and laughs like a drain at everything she says Hmm

Boohissmiss · 15/10/2018 02:35

Totally agree the taking minky everywhere is all just so try hard and not funny at all

bubbles092 · 15/10/2018 07:41

The amount of chemicals she is using is unreal. I try and use very little chemicals when I can! I only clean the bathroom with diluted zoflora and use Duck limescale in my toilet as I live in hard water area so my toilet always gets limescale, my furniture gets wiped down with a damp cloth (water), I clean sick off my carpet with baby shampoo... because I have a little one, I really don't want him breathing in all the fumes! And I just use a Morrison's brand hoover which is just as good as Henry and has very good suction. I do like being organised in my cupboards etc. but I don't do it every single day! Don't people have jobs to go to?! If I want to watch cleaning videos, I like watching them clean a filthy house (think Kim and Aggie on How Clean Is Your House)! I get great pleasure in watching that show lol.

Bubba1234 · 15/10/2018 08:17

It shows how people really are sheep.
Some of the Irish bloggers are copying her now saying they spent the last 2 days cleaning and now they get sent cleaning products.
You can buy that stuff for like 33 cent in Tesco costs more to post the stuff to the dopes

serbska · 15/10/2018 08:53

I don’t get Mrs Hinch.

How is that a lifestyle to aspire to? Spend all your time obsessively cleaning an already clean and boring as fuck house? And people are excited to see what she’s been up to? Do not get it.

finks100 · 15/10/2018 09:01

I really don't get it, she stock piles chemicals. She has about 8 bottle of toilet cleaner stored. That would last me years!
Is there anyone to follow who is promoting natural cleaning, using lemons etc.. that I would be interested in.

Surfinbird · 15/10/2018 10:02

Little home bird promotes organic cleaning where she can, vinegar, lemons, etc. She’s very nice too!

IamPickleRick · 15/10/2018 12:51

How many times can you watch someone clean something that’s already clean 😂 That said I’ve followed a few of the accounts mentioned here and some of them are amazing! I love those absolute grot pictures that are then all shiny and new in the after pics.

serbska · 16/10/2018 09:47

Great article. Could not agree more.
