I don't get why people stockpile cleaning stuff! I have 1 bottle Zoflora, 1 bleach , 1 Mr Muscle bathroom cleaner, 1 Mr Muscle window cleaner, 1 bottle of fairy liquid! Would rather have money sitting in my bank instead of my cupboard.

What is even sadder, is the two follower graphs I posted yesterday, that are obviously buying followers, both of those people I know personally. Both would deny they've done it but the evidence is there that says otherwise.

GoofyIsACow · 27/10/2018 12:07

@nipersvest it’s so frustrating isn’t it! The business I’m in involves a very well known review site rhymes with ship badwiser
It’s so clear when businesses pay for 5 start reviews. We wouldn’t dream of it, what a waste of money!
Still pisses me off though!

Affiliate links are classed as advertising under the UK Advertising Rules, so actually they should ALL be should be marked AD, so people are aware before they click on them.

Most people wouldn't even know what af means in tiny writing if they saw it written on social media.

As quoted by the Advertising Standards Authority. The ASA likes labels that just say it how it is, e.g.:

• Ad
• Advert
• Advertising
• Advertisement
• Ad/Advertising/ Advertisement Feature

Story today tagged paid partnership with three which is really good. Shows understanding of the rules though.

GoofyIsACow · 27/10/2018 12:58

Is this why you often see IG posts with the caption then
.

.
Etc etc hashtag hashtag hashtag?
You have to hit ‘see more’ to see the hastags?!

Peaches100 · 27/10/2018 13:39

JessicaPeach, where does it say paid partnership? Has it disappeared?

JessicaPeach · 27/10/2018 13:48

It's at the top of the story underneath her name

Homeinspo · 27/10/2018 14:23

Thing is she is a cleaning account what has three mobile got to do with cleaning?

I understand if it was paid with cleaning things as that is her content.

Ahh well.

Not the make up, lashes and nail stuff will come thick and fast. She'd rather be opening gift parcels from benefit and the like than zoflora. It's all so cynical!

BatFacedOK · 27/10/2018 14:31

Well, 3 mobile are offering a new service - it's a 'phone spa' for your phone. They clean your phone for you

So it seems pretty clear to me what the link is.

nipersvest · 27/10/2018 14:33

It's a cleaning account, but its built on a very shallow base, she's going to have to diversify otherwise she will run out of content pretty soon.
There is limited milage repeatedly storying the cleaning of an already clean house. A households most used rooms are the kitchen and bathroom, the bathroom won't get a huge amount of use as there's only 2 of them living there, and the kitchen, tinned tomato soup/spaghetti hoops/dairylea lunchables, only make a small amount of mess.

While some cleaning accounts will venture into deep cleaning end of tenancy rentals, with Mrs Hinch, makeup brushes and smudgy mobile phone screens, well I suppose that's a start on diversifying...

Hi folks. This is just a reminder that, while it's absolutely fine to have these discussions, we ask that you avoid getting overly personal with the comments. Many of the instagrammers discussed are actual MNers, so please bear in mind how it would feel to read an especially mean post. If we have to continually delete these kind of posts, we may remove the entire thread.

HSM19 · 27/10/2018 18:49

So I did some research last night from what has been said and according to your affiliate link info, the queen of clean posted one last night for something and it didn’t say #ad or anything so maybe it’s quite a common thing to avoid putting it 🤨

JessicaPeach · 27/10/2018 18:58

Yes hsm it is very common, it isn't only Mrs hinch thats for sure. I've kept following Mrs hinch because I really like her, I'm rooting for her to follow the rules! I unfollowed Lynsey really quickly, same for little miss mops. Neither as likeable as Mrs hinch

IDontNeedNoPyjamas · 27/10/2018 19:23

If you see an affiliate link (or suspected ad) and it isn’t disclosed, report it with screenshots. ASA have to respond so at least you’ll know one way or another whether they are shady or not and stop some of the speculation.

Homeinspo · 27/10/2018 19:42

@BatFacedOK i hadn't seen the stories only that someone said on here about three mobile so i didn't know the full reason behind it but thanks for clearing that up.

MaHeidsGouping · 27/10/2018 20:07

Out of curiosity I have just checked on the cleaning accounts that I follow and all of them have a "buy now" or "swipe up".....not one of them have a aff link. They also have a fair few swipe ups going on which I didn't notice before as I tend to watch the stories that disappear.

IDontNeedNoPyjamas · 27/10/2018 20:13

Not all swipe up links are affiliate links. It’s only the ones that are affiliates that need disclosing.

WasWats · 28/10/2018 00:34

hope Smeg send her 50 more toasters and a banana fridge just to annoy Mumsnet

I would love new toaster. Just putting it out there .......

necromumda · 28/10/2018 07:35

Yowzer! I didn't think what I said was that bad. In fact, posters have said worse to me. Maybe we can say stuff to each other but not about someone in the public eye.

necromumda · 28/10/2018 07:38

Forgot to say..sorry about that.

GetYourRocksOff · 28/10/2018 08:49

Ridiculous deletion there MN.

OftenHangry · 28/10/2018 12:31

@necromumda I don't think you overstepped any boundaries tbh. Saw worse posts
