I don't get why people stockpile cleaning stuff! I have 1 bottle Zoflora, 1 bleach , 1 Mr Muscle bathroom cleaner, 1 Mr Muscle window cleaner, 1 bottle of fairy liquid! Would rather have money sitting in my bank instead of my cupboard.

Must add I think Hinch is a business master mind , she puts up a link and sells products out like that! She has just sold out clothes on this boutique site, she will have every type of brand wanting to work with her and good on her , she’s making a life for herself she probably would of only ever dreamed off!

VerbeenaBeeks · 24/10/2018 11:43

Agree about the appealing to different audiences. It's the fun aspect that I like and gets me following. Other more serious accounts with their timed and organised routines bore the hell out of me so I've never taken an interest. Different people like different things, so it is unique in that respect - it's not your usual yawnsome cleaning account, it's fun.

BrendasUmbrella · 24/10/2018 11:44

Except the stupid pointless stuff like using 4 products to clean a sink.

And potentially dangerous. I was always told you should never mix cleaning products because they all contain strong chemicals and could create toxic fumes.

I'm all for keeping a clean house, but she seems to chemical bomb her house every single day. I think I'd get a migraine just trying to eat breakfast at that multi-Zoflora-layered kitchen table.

ElspethFlashman · 24/10/2018 11:51

And using four cotton pads to soak up wax from an unneeded wax melt just made me really fucking angry

Yeah, I don't get particularly irate over anything to do with Mrs H, but that was nuts! I was watching like Shock

Couldn't you just wait till it was hard and chip it out??!

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 24/10/2018 11:53

I'm liking the Hinch Potter idea. She could do the whole series.

Hinch Potter and the Scouring Stone
Hinch Potter and the Chamber of Zoflora
Hinch Potter and the Prisoner of Instagram
Hinch Potter and the Mixed-Cleaning-Chemical-Solution of Fire
Hinch Potter and the Orders of the Affiliate Links
Hinch Potter and the Half-Bleached Sink
Hinch Potter and the Deadly Febreeze Fumes.

nipersvest · 24/10/2018 11:54

There's room for more one cleaning account FGS. Should both concentrate on doing their own and not what others are or aren't doing

Absolutely agree Verbeena, but that statement should work both ways.

TOMM has already been ticked off by the Hinch Army for using products Mrs Hinch uses (despite having always used them) and quoting warnings about mixing cleaning chemicals (despite that being common sense). TOMM's whole concept has been built around 'rocking the housework in 30 minutes'. And now, Mrs Hinch is doing 'Hinch half hour'. Do you not find that crosses a line even just a little?

I buy vinegar in 5L bottles. I buy Bicarb by the kg. I always have lemons in anyway. I buy washing up liquid. I buy the black harpic. I buy toilet wipes. I buy essential oils. That is it. Oh, and liquid milton.

All these products she uses are ridiculous.

nipersvest · 24/10/2018 11:57

And I don't mean that cleaning in 30 mins is unique to TOMM, I just mean if that was happening the other way round (as in Mrs Hinch did it first) there would be an absolute stinking (diluted Lenor scented) uproar from the Hinch Army.

I still maintain she can't cook. On This Morning, she didn't know what taramosalata was.

VerbeenaBeeks · 24/10/2018 12:01

Her account USP is fun cleaning so I can't get worked up if she's no Nigella in the kitchen as she doesn't claim to be Grin

crunchtime · 24/10/2018 12:02

i have just clicked on this out of curiousity and then looked at instagram.

i am absolutely incredulous.

This is about cleaning right? ie-the dullest way to spend time ever? the thing that really we only do because we have to?
WTF?

MaHeidsGouping · 24/10/2018 12:05

I guarantee the whole Hinch Army will go into meltdown when she puts her Xmas tree up, the decorations will be another swipe up.

nipersvest · 24/10/2018 12:06

no, doesn't matter if she can't cook, but it does mean she's continually cleaning an already clean kitchen.

Got to admire her in a way, short lived fame and fortune a plenty. It's the longer term environmental impact that worries me though.

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 24/10/2018 12:08

@MaHeids - can you get grey Christmas trees?

nipersvest · 24/10/2018 12:09

omg, just imagine how flammable that tree will be (I am assuming it will definitely be artificial, a real tree would be far too dirty) after its doused in pine scented spray.

MaHeidsGouping · 24/10/2018 12:15

Well if you can get grey trees, I suggest ordering now before they become out of stock Grin

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 24/10/2018 12:20

And pop some pine spray in your Narnia before Savers sells out.

Eliza9917 · 24/10/2018 12:34

What's a Narnia? Please don't say its a fucking cupboard Shock

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 24/10/2018 12:45

It's a fucking cupboard.

Well, a cupboard in which one keeps huge stock piles of cleaning products, such 6 febreeze multipacks, 10 Harpics, 80 bottles of Zoflora etc. Not sure where the fucking comes in.

VerbeenaBeeks · 24/10/2018 12:48

Bit of fun, innit. Works as well if it gets people who like a bit of whimsy and those who prefer things more black and white and to the point talking about her and watching, I'd say. Think that's how she's doing so well. Different. Fun.

VickieCherry · 24/10/2018 12:52

@crunchtime I did the same last week, and am still slightly in shock. I watched her clean a clean sink four times with different products. I can barely be bothered to clean my sink once.

Plus, her voice grates. And I live in Essex, I'm used to the accent.

Babbas · 24/10/2018 13:01

Actually tomm did go for hinch in an underhand way a few months ago by criticising everything hinch was using and doing. Then she cried when the army came after her. She's constantly making digs. And no one invented a 30 min clean. Women everywhere have been doing it for decades, alongside deep cleans, 10 min cleans, using hot soapy water, using zoflora. Both accounts are embarrassing and really instead of hawking and arguing over petty shit they should focus on education and day jobs that wok give them the validation they are so desperate for. They both happily set their followers on each other, both knowing full well the outcome of crying on stories and starting a pity party.

No one invented cleaning.

HSM19 · 24/10/2018 13:05

Babbas !! Spot on. Everyone needs to calm down about the whole thing.

TitusAndromedom · 24/10/2018 13:11

Verbeena, you are bizarrely committed to Mrs Hinch’s defence. Confused

I don’t follow her but I’ve watched a few stories out of curiosity. It is weirdly compelling, but very much not to my taste. I think that’s why there are a lot of people who don’t like what she does. I don’t find the alliterative names or the repeated catch phrases to be ‘a bit of fun’ or ‘funny’. I find them cringy and grating. Clearly there are lots of people who enjoy that sort of ‘humour’ and that’s fair enough to them, but I think if you’re a public figure creating a very particular persona it’s expected that there will be those who are critical.

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 24/10/2018 13:21

I think Narnia is a cute idea on a small scale, a nice way to spin keeping a wee stock of things so that you don't run out. But I feel her Narnia has kind of escaped the wardrobe.
