To ask for your IMMEDIATE help as I've accidentally dyed my hands red

So embarrassing.

I have a pair of old red gloves I wear under the fake tan mitt. Tonight I forgot I had thrown my mitt away so decided to apply just wearing the gloves.

Have taken them off to see that my hands are BRIGHT RED.

It won't wash off with soap or washing up liquid.

I need ideas fast please. I'm a normal person with a professional job and this cannot have happened to me Shock

Salt or sugar and oil for some kind of scrub?

woodwaj · 20/09/2018 21:07

Try perfume?

IloveJudgeJudy · 20/09/2018 21:07

Hairspray? That takes the dye out of clothes

raspberryrippleicecream · 20/09/2018 21:08

Sugar mixed with the washing up liquid?

7toGo · 20/09/2018 21:08

No one will notice. It’s not that bad.

DaphneFanshaw · 20/09/2018 21:09

Washing powder and sugar is brilliant or washing up liquid with sugar.
Tbh, it doesn’t look all that bad. Just wave with your other hand.

FaithInfinity · 20/09/2018 21:10

Bicarb of soda should do the trick. Make it into a paste with water. I got a dodgy fake tan off with that!

ladywithredhands · 20/09/2018 21:11

BOTH hands look like this

Try nail varnish remover on cotton wool.

Datedandold · 20/09/2018 21:12

WD40?

kitbabingley · 20/09/2018 21:12

Doesn't look that bad. When I get dye on my skin from dyeing my hair I use copious amounts of alcohol hand gel which seems to work, just moisturise generously afterwards so it doesn't dry your skin out.

didyouseetheflaresinthesky · 20/09/2018 21:12

White spirit should take it off, just make sure you use moisturising soap afterwards. I used to work in a job where I got regularly covered in dyes and there was very little that white spirit or Big Wipes, didn't take off.

MammaSchwifty · 20/09/2018 21:12

Unlikely anyone will notice, it's not like they're bright blue or green or anything! Assuming you work mon-fri, it'll be back to normal by Monday so just don't wander around palms up tomorrow or high-five too many people Grin

Datedandold · 20/09/2018 21:12

Or fag ash maybe, that’s meant to take hair dye off- sorry for double post but I know several people swear by it.

QuestionableMouse · 20/09/2018 21:12

Toothpaste got food dye off my hands.

Or soak them in oil?

Didiplanthis · 20/09/2018 21:15

I dyed mine bright purple for a week with animal antiseptic spray. I'm an HCP....

DaphneFanshaw · 20/09/2018 21:18

Have you got any naice lace gloves ...?

Dancer12345 · 20/09/2018 21:18

I dyed mine blue with Dylon once. A quick splash of bleach and it literally ran off! I made sure I washed my hands thoroughly afterwards and they were fine.

PatriciaHolm · 20/09/2018 21:20

baby wipes?

Swarfega?

ladywithredhands · 20/09/2018 21:21

It's coming off but very slowly with nail polish remover.

Going to have sore hands tomorrow though!

Bleach.... Will turn your hands a bit green when you wash it off.... bitten wash with some soap and moisturise...

MiddleClassProblem · 20/09/2018 21:23

Don’t think it’s bad but if you exfoliate it a bit it will be fainter. You can buy stuff that removes it off skin but I’ve done this before and it goes after a couple of days and if it’s faint no one will notice anyway.

HawthornLantern · 20/09/2018 21:23

Window cleaning stuff with ammonia in it is worth a try if you have any

Amber0685 · 20/09/2018 21:23

Babywipes

Socksey · 20/09/2018 21:24

Btw.... I've given up with mits and gloves when I do my DS fake tan for his comps.... and use bleach every time.... doit quickly so you're skin not in contact with it too long...
