To have not gone to the hospital?

DDs friend bumped DDs arm yesterday in PE. DD is 15. I checked it last night when she mentioned it was achey but it wasn't very sore and there was no swelling or bruising and it looked normal (I'm a trained first aider so have a rough idea what to look for) and more to make DD feel better than anything put a small bandage on it .

She's gone in today and her teacher has questioned it as the only bandage we had was blue, dd told her what had happened and that I had checked it over.

Her form teacher asked if she has been to the hospital to have it checked and when DD said no then asked the first aider to check it over who has declared the same as me that's it's fine.

I mean I'm really grateful they care that much and am appreciative but it made me feel I'd done wrong by not taking her to the hospital despite the fact it appears to be a strain and made me feel a bit neglectful tbh Blush

If she needed hospital shouldn’t they have been phoning from school the day if happened? Sounds fine to me.

You're overthinking this. There was no swelling, bruising and it looked normal. It wasnt very sore just a bit achey. Anyone taking a child to A and E for that would have been wasting their time!

Well that's what I thought. My Mum is a senior surgical nurse and we were taught you don't go to A and E unless there is blood or you are dying Grin

I think it's because she was told I had already checked it out but still got it rechecked that made me question myself.

Anyway as I said I'm just grateful that someone cares so much about DD ,it just seemed a bit dramatic!

The school were also probably covering their own backs as they realised that it happened in school and nothing was done yesterday!

Agree that the school is probably just covering their arses.
