Topless men and bikini clad women at children's play area and outdoor paddling pool ?

Probably a pet peeve of mine tbh. I just dislike it. Think its a bit wrong. This is in my area, and the seafront is literally round the corner from the play area and paddling pool. I do not have an issue if they are on the beach. But it seems men and women with minimal clothing sit in play area, some are not even with children. Plus its not a supervised pool because water is only say 5inches so no one to inform of this.
What are your thoughts?

Confusedyou would like my fil

Unaccompanied adults shouldn’t be in a kids play area.

Adults are allowed to wear swimwear to an outdoor pool, if they want to freeze their tits off in this weather, that’s up to them.

StopCloudSeeding · 19/09/2018 16:21

YABVVU!

That is perfectly acceptable attire for those circumstances.

If it makes you uncomfortable then stay away! Simples!

MorningsEleven · 19/09/2018 16:22

Brandnewshit

My concern is that they are out there today in this wind!

🤣

OP your reaction is not normal and I think you need to talk to people, a therapist or even just your mates, to find out how drastically different most other people's reactions are. I hope the replies here help you to see that.
There is nothing wrong with naked flesh. There IS something wrong in societal history in showing your genitalia and in the case of women, their nipples in public. But never has it been bad for a child to see a bare stomach, thighs, shoulders etc. What is harmful for a child is an adult in their life repressing them and treating them that the human body is shameful and must be hidden at all times (except on the beach Hmm)
My kids have seen births on Tv shows with full on vaginal camera shots, they've seen my friends breastfeeding toddlers and older, they've seen naked adults changing at the leisure centre and showering naked too. They have positive body confidence and a natural reaction to seeing the human body in undress.

Excuse me, OP, 1818 is the door on your right.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 19/09/2018 16:31

Are you in the UK?!

Sashkin · 19/09/2018 16:48

I always wear a bikini when I take DS to our local paddling pool. Much easier to change out of without flashing. I used to keep my tshirt on, but DS is too splashy now.

I do object to people without kids sitting there, but that is mostly because they take up all the benches.

SLoisachtal · 19/09/2018 17:00

"Probably French or some such"

I doubt it, I don't think the French are so repressed.

Ohyesiam · 19/09/2018 17:26

But children won’t see the women as “popping out “ of their bikinis op. Children are not sexual beings, which is why abuse is so horrendously wrong, because it’s breaking innocence.
I grew up on the 70 s watching carry on films, I had no idea Barbra Windsor was almost starkers half the time. To an adult it’s sexual, to a child it’s not.
Really there is nothing to worry about op.

This.

YABU. And ridiculous.

Seniorschoolmum · 19/09/2018 18:22

Op, are there deck chairs by this pool? Maybe these parents are just grabbing the last bit of sunshine before autumn hits, while watching their children.

I do understand the bit about non-parents, although with more people living in flats, I can see it happening more for completely innocent reasons.

ilovesooty · 19/09/2018 18:27

This is utterly weird.

OhFlipMama · 19/09/2018 18:43

Were they really outside in swimwear today? Sure it's been warm but my goodness it hasn't been sunbathing weather!

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 19/09/2018 18:46
Biscuit
BigGreenOlives · 19/09/2018 18:56

Why on earth would there be a problem? Adults who might get splashed playing with children are much better dressed appropriately in beachwear. If there are seats nearby I'd expect people to be in beachwear. People wear bikinis or shorts in Hyde Park and St James's Park in the summer - nothing wrong with adult bodies in beachwear.

SLoisachtal · 19/09/2018 18:59

The OP doesn't have to be in the UK - she could be in sunnier climes?!

LemonysSnicket · 19/09/2018 19:17

OMG NOT CHILDREN SEEING LEGS AND TUMMYS

ForalltheSaints · 19/09/2018 19:21

If they are with children, no issue. Better children see normal humans by swimming pools than censored ones.

kenandbarbie · 19/09/2018 19:23

Where are you op? I don't see any problem with it.

ShalomJackie · 19/09/2018 19:29

Omg people in swimwear at pool shocker!!!

Losingthewill1 · 19/09/2018 22:58

Jesus love... don’t go to Europe if you have this sort of weird view!

Pepper123123 · 19/09/2018 23:03

I'm not sure what you expect people to wear at the swimming pool other than swimming costumes....
