Topless men and bikini clad women at children's play area and outdoor paddling pool ?

Probably a pet peeve of mine tbh. I just dislike it. Think its a bit wrong. This is in my area, and the seafront is literally round the corner from the play area and paddling pool. I do not have an issue if they are on the beach. But it seems men and women with minimal clothing sit in play area, some are not even with children. Plus its not a supervised pool because water is only say 5inches so no one to inform of this.
What are your thoughts?

It's the human body!!! Nothing wrong with it op!

Do you want everyone in burkas style clothing?

Mummaluelae · 19/09/2018 14:42

Pool specifically for kids!
Yes probably holiday makers in the area I live in not completely sure though

You’re a little uptight, OP. If you don’t like it, don’t go.

PhilomenaButterfly · 19/09/2018 14:50

Aaaaannnnnndddd...? As I said, all private bits covered up. What's the problem OP? Confused

CoughLaughFart · 19/09/2018 14:51

Pool specifically for kids!

So what are the kids wearing in said pool?

MissusGeneHunt · 19/09/2018 14:54

Where on earth are you that it's warm enough anyway?!

How do you know some of the adults are not parents or friends of the children there?

Issue? None that I can see. How odd. Confused

Littlechocola · 19/09/2018 14:54

Only issue I would have is that it’s blardy cold today!

Op, it’s a pool! What do you think could be more appropriate than swimming attire?

Poodles1980 · 19/09/2018 14:59

Brave people out in the storm in their next to nothing’s- they will catch their death of cold As my mother would say.

CoughLaughFart · 19/09/2018 14:59

For all the people going on about the weather, you realise it varies by location, right? It’s 22 degrees by me today.

Mia1415 · 19/09/2018 15:02

My thoughts are..... this doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Laiste · 19/09/2018 15:02

At our splash park adults are not allowed into the area unless accompanying a child. Like at soft play. I would be a bit side eye to people coming into an under 10 play area to sit about when there's a beach round the corner. I would agree with you there.

However i don't believe this is the main thrust of your OP, OP.

About the swimwear: IF there are actual nipples and whole bums or vulvas on display then YANBU. If it's just normal bikinis and swimsuits then YABU.

AmIRightOrAMeringue · 19/09/2018 15:03

I can't say I've ever seen a child traumatised because they saw an adult in shorts or bikini

womanintrousers · 19/09/2018 15:15

I wouldn't let my under 10 in a pool unless an adult was supervising close by. This is a very strange thread.

WhateverHappenedToTheHeatwave · 19/09/2018 15:20

Why wouldn't they be in swimwear around a pool? They are probably sunbathing?

If there are plenty of spots then yes, they should keep the area free for parents of kids in the pool to sit imo. But it depends if there is loads of spots elsewhere.

I wouldn't want to sit by a kids pool unless it was the only shady or free area. Getting kids shouting, jumping in, splashing ..no way unless my dc would use.

But the clothing is an odd issue. Down the highstreet half naked or in just bikini or trunks. Or in tesco...no, not appropriate. A pool, kids or adult, appropriate

AccidentallyRunToWindsor · 19/09/2018 15:26

I'm guessing you're not in the UK OP?

I wouldn't go to a kids splash pool,I don't have kids. If I was taking my niece to one (under duress!) I would have a bikini on.

What would you suggest I wear?

HoleyCoMoley · 19/09/2018 15:33

What sort of beach is it, is uncrowded, pebble, maybe they don't want to sit on the beach. How do you know they don't have kids. People can walk around in swimwear, shorts, cover ups if they want, even in the street. What country are you in.

iklboo · 19/09/2018 15:33

Topless women and bikini clad men I may give a second glance to, granted, but this seems relatively normal - especially if they're supervising children.

NarcolepticOuchMouse · 19/09/2018 15:48

I don't see a problem.

lolaflores · 19/09/2018 15:48

Shit. Might be holidaymakers in the pool OP. Is it also only for locals?
I'd have the riot police down there taking names and throwing sheets over those brazen interlopers.
Probably French or some such

Alpacanorange · 19/09/2018 15:51

Hold the front page...... people have been seen wearing beach clothes, at, the, beach! What a shocker!
What would you like them to wear instead ?

WilyMinx · 19/09/2018 15:52

Topless or bikini-clad around a 5-inch deep children's paddling pool does seem a bit inappropriate. And bizarre if they have no children with them. People questioning what grown ups should be wearing - how about shorts and t-shirts?

TheReturnoftheSmartArse · 19/09/2018 15:52

Sorry, OP - another one who doesn't understand the problem. I really don't get why it's any different to families on a beach. In France, there are plenty of topless women as well as men - no-one bats an eyelid. They're just body parts and most of us have them! And I've often sat on a French beach, topless, watching other people's children having fun in the sea just because they're cute and having a laugh. Nothing odd about me (well, some might disagree there ...Grin

Relax!

specialsubject · 19/09/2018 15:52

acceptable swimwear/beachwear in the uk is bra and knickers or one piece for women, knickers for men. no child is harmed by this.

Aria2015 · 19/09/2018 15:56

It's the same at our outdoor pay area pool. Doesn't bother me and think it's normal. It is usually people with kids though, not sure why any sane aldult would go there if they didn't have children to entertain / cool down!

Sleepykate · 19/09/2018 16:12

God forbip people wear SWIMWEAR! In a pool 😂
