To wonder where the hell my neighbours go in the middle of the night?

I know I'm a nosey cow but seriously.

They don't work. They go out between 1am and 3am nearly every night including Sundays and run up and down the bloody stairs repeatedly (flats) before slamming the front door. They then come back in and repeat this bloody process at least twice before disappearing for a few hours and doing the same again later on before coming home usually waking the kids repeatedly, shouting to each other in the hallway and going to bed till after lunch (I know this as on my days off their mates stand under the window hollering because they won't answer the door and then one of them runs down the stairs in his underwear to let them in usually) while we get up for school and work and are knackered.

Aibu to tell them to please shut the hell up?

Hmm, they’re going clubbing but they’re also forgetful so they get to the bottom of the stairs and think “Damn, I’ve forgotten my phone!” and back they go to get it only to come back downstairs and realise they’ve forgotten their credit card/ID for club/lipstick etc?

AimlesslyPurposeful · 19/09/2018 03:00

Oh you’re absolutely not being unreasonable to tell them to shut the hell up but not without finding out what it is they’re doing as I’m ever so curious too now.

Luglio · 19/09/2018 03:01

Dogging.

Bahhhhhumbug · 19/09/2018 03:04

Haha Luglio, dogging was my first thought too.

Dorkdiary · 19/09/2018 03:05

Noooo Luglio I hadn't thought of that Shock

Dumpster diving is quite popular now. People do it in the early hours and sell stuff online.

glintandglide · 19/09/2018 03:29

Drugs?

ChangerChangerson · 19/09/2018 03:38

It wouldnt be drugs becsuse doing or selling drugs diesnt just happwn at set times each day.

More likely dogging but even that seems weird to be almost every night at the same time.

Whatever they're up to, you'd be perfectly reasonable to ask them to keep the noise down. If you don't want to do it to their face, a polite note letting them know the sound carries more than they may realise wikk hopefully do the trick.

BedtimeTea · 19/09/2018 03:44

Dropping off newspaper bundles at the carriers and newstands? My friend used to do this www.indeed.co.uk/m/viewjob?jk=446210400519d9b7&from=serp

passwordfailure · 19/09/2018 03:47

Dogging, there's no other explanation. They're clearly very, very popular as people come and shout for them to join in. Of course they sleep in the day, they're exhausted, and probably have sore bums too.

Rebecca36 · 19/09/2018 03:52

They are not dogging, they're gangsters. They're just holeing up in the flat until it's safe to return their gated mansion.

passwordfailure · 19/09/2018 04:00

Poor sore bummed, exhausted doggers. I feel bad for them.

penisbeakers · 19/09/2018 04:07

Ohgod the responses to this thread are killing me hahahahaha 😹😹😹😹

GulagMilkMonitor · 19/09/2018 04:40

They just really love star gazing whilst riding a squelchy one?

gimeallthecake · 19/09/2018 04:52

Running up and down the stairs is to increase their stamina for said dogging.

MamaHechtick · 19/09/2018 05:07

Not unreasonable to tell them to shut up. And possibly is drugs, we've had very similar reported to us by our tenants about another tenant. We also were wondering what they were doing until another tenant found and reported back to us that they had found digital weighing scales with cannabis remnants on, dropped in the communal area very close to the reported tennants flat.

stevesmithsmum · 19/09/2018 05:27

Aibu to tell them to please shut the hell up?

Of course you’re not. What has the world come to when we can’t set and protect our own boundaries.....in this case ensuring peace and quiet. "Any chance keeping the noise down when you go out late in the evening?", "hey, people are trying to sleep, keep the racket down", "oi, keep the fucken noise down, alright?"

passwordfailure · 19/09/2018 11:07

Do they ever shout. "Oi oi Saveloy!" Whilst running up and down? That's dogging code.

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 19/09/2018 13:14

@passwordfailure- I didn't know that, I say it to my mum! Shock

Drugs, Dogging or some job that requires early set up would be my guess!
