Trying to determine how bad my periods actually are in comparison to others.

They last 7-10 days but are not heavy the whole time but there will be blood all of those days at some point. Heavy for around 2-3 days.

Anyone wish to share for my own research purposes? Grin

I’ve been a 5 day with the last two days only needing a liner until last year.

My longest this year was 22 days and I bled medium to heavy for 20 of them. My current period started on Saturday two week after my last one ended. I bled through my clothes yesterday and over the carpet walking from shower to bedroom. Have lots of tests and nothing showing but I suspect as my hormone levels weren’t normal in the first place (I know this from tests pre kids) and what they look for are changes to levels nothing will show. So more tests next month to see if changed from months ago.

I’m using an app called Flo if anyone wants to track theirs.

I don't get an average whilst breastfeeding and I just stopped last month. So for the past two years it ranged from 3days to 16days. Before children it used to be 7days with the very rare 8day period. But they hurt, the best side effect of being pregnant for me has been no longer getting period pain. Yes, they tend to last longer and be much heavier, but hardly any pain.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 19/09/2018 06:36

Tumbleweed101 · 19/09/2018 06:49

7 days. 2 days heavy, 2 days medium and the rest light and tapering away but need a liner.

toolazytothinkofausername · 19/09/2018 06:51

Utterly stinks-dunno if thats normal.

Thatstheendofmytether · 19/09/2018 06:54

Mine used to be the same until I had kids and I think my contraception has changed them. Now if I get one at all it will last for 3 days very max, something It can be about 12 hours lol

Pinotwoman82 · 19/09/2018 06:59

Ozbarbie · 19/09/2018 07:03

Before endometrial ablation

7 days

After ablation

5 days

Still bleed though, didn't really work so well.

Halfling · 19/09/2018 07:03

5 days. Day 1 - Light, Day 2 - Very heavy, Day 3 - Heavy, Day 4 - Moderate, Day 5 - Light/Spotting

inquiquotiokixul · 19/09/2018 07:04

My cycles changed significantly with each pregnancy. Nowadays I have 2 ridiculously heavy days (Quentin Tarantino levels of blood), 2 medium days and 2 days which barely count.

GhostCurry · 19/09/2018 07:21

I’m surprised at how many people with short periods there are. I thought 7 days was the average.

VickieCherry · 19/09/2018 07:24

5-6 days, usually two heavy. When I was a teenager it was more like 7-10 days.

Southwest12 · 19/09/2018 07:25

Currently on week 23 of the same period... another two weeks and I get my first Prostap injection and then it will stop. I can’t wait!

ilovechurros · 19/09/2018 07:25

Used to be 11 days, now about 7. The pain lasts beyond this though Sad

nancybelle · 19/09/2018 07:34

Since coming off the pill 6 months ago have ranged from 12-22 days and generally quite heavy throughout. Started again this morning and last one only finished 12 days ago. Sometimes I hate being a woman!

incogKNEEto · 19/09/2018 07:38

Used to be 6-8 days, 2-3 very heavy, the rest lighter/spotting, but recently switched to a 13 day cycle and two epically long periods, the last being 41 days Shock, and currently 11 days since having the mirena to try and stop the bleeding... I'm 45 and can't deal with 10+ more years of this...

Writersblock2 · 19/09/2018 07:40

2 days, first day heavier than the second but neither are bad.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 19/09/2018 08:07

4 days.
1- lIght
2- Heavy
3 Medium
4- Light

Kintan · 19/09/2018 08:11

4 days: heavy, medium, light, light.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 19/09/2018 08:12

7-10 days on average.
First day isn't too bad, but days 2 and 3 are usually very heavy, to the point I'm changing tampon and pad every two hours.
Then it slowly eases off.
When I was younger they'd last an awful lot longer.

DeathMetalMum · 19/09/2018 08:12

Used to be 4/5 days, three extremely heavy, loads of cramps and just generally feeling rubbish and one or two lighter ones. Now it's around 7 but due to contraception, three fairly heavy days and the rest mainly spotting/v light. I much prefer a slightly longer less heavier period.

Kintan · 19/09/2018 08:15

Magenta123 I had the stopping then starting again in my early twenties. It turned out it was caused by a large fibroid which I had removed and then never had that happen again. Might be worth getting checked out.

GruciusMalfoy · 19/09/2018 08:20

I can only really describe mine as erratic. I can bleed lightly for months at a time, or go months between anything at all. If I get what feels like a normal period it can be around a week long, with a few very heavy days, then lighter, with or without cramping. I might have two, or at a push three, cycles likes this in a row. I'm currently experiencing a few weeks of very light bleeding.

I've had tests, they can't find anything wrong.
