What a bunch- 12 of us including my 81 year old mother were due to fly on 11th august .
Minibus arranged and prepaid .
Car hire paid for
Villa paid for
03.30 text received ( taxi due to come at 8.30)
Yes holiday insurance did cover some of cost minus excess but not all can't bear to go into detail but easyJet have still not even refunded the price of the flights we did not take.
My mum didn't even come in the end.
I know they are supposed to be cheap but they are not that cheap flight one way was £150 each withou luggage which we also added.
They are holiday thieves and I feel vv angry I am posting this as I want to highlight to others the risks you take when you book with them

They once cancelled a flight of mine after I’d checked in this was due to staff shortages. They had to put us up in a hotel till the next available flight. The other flight they cancelled wasn’t for 3 days and they had to put all these people up for 3 days board and lodgings inc a group of 100 school kids!! Seemingly it was quite common then for this to happen as staff ran out of flying hours by the end of the week. Maybe they’ve started cancelling earlier to save paying expenses to customers. No help to you though.

Dh has had a number of business flights cancelled without reason, think it's probably due to staff shortages but they never tell you that. He will no longer use EasyJet. We have also had issues with BA too, I think airlines treat their customers quite poorly to be honest.

If you are travelling with a child, fit their oxygen mask first. If you’re travelling with two children - decide now which one you love the best!”.

Really?

I've never flown with Easy Jet, but every flight I've ever been on they've said fit your own mask first.

Our flight was cancelled coming home from Barcelona last year late at night. Easyjet put everyone up in a hotel overnight, picked us up early the next morning and put us on a new flight. And we got compensation too.

Its not just Easy Jet who have issues with cancellations and delays.

In recent years we've had delays with BA, Ryan Air, Virgin, Delta, and more.

Our biggest holiday travel cancellation wasn't a flight - it was EuroStar. And my experience there was that they were really unhelpful. We were left out of pocket for pre booked hotels, in the UK, due to that one.

Hobblesma yes I agree the reason is important as if it is a safety issue then you of course would prefer a cancellation rather than anything else. If it is poor planning on the airlines behalf then really poor show.
