To think it'd be amazing if all restaurants had this attitude?

I'm on holiday and we're currently eating dinner in a beautiful garden restaurant...not too expensive... lovely staff..

Just popped to the loo and saw this in the ladies. What a lovely idea! It never occurred to me that establishments could offer sanpro on the house!

Smashing attitude Smile

BA used to have sanitary towel avalible in the loos. Not sure if they still do. I was very happy to, discover 20 years ago, they did when I started my period a week early at the start of a 14 hour journey!!

MissusGeneHunt · 15/09/2018 18:47

You're so right! Some of the places I visit for work do this, I think it's a lovely touch.

Nissemand · 15/09/2018 18:48

I think it's becoming more common.

I know we started doing it at work a couple of months ago.

Probably because the tampon/towel vending machines have never, ever, been known to work. Hmm

Thisnamechanger · 15/09/2018 18:48

Also the vendors always have the grossest oldest style tampons and pads IME!

What's that thing that looks like a plastic apple?

Sparklingbrook · 15/09/2018 18:50

That's lovely, we had something similar at my old job.

I can't help but think somebody would come along and tip the whole lot into their handbag though. Sad

Thisnamechanger · 15/09/2018 18:50

I love it, it's such a great little nod to the women customers 😊

I was at a training day recently for work and the venue had a similar set up - it’s a lovely touch

It's just the lid of the container the pads are in

A lovely restaurant in Ilfracombe offers this also.

Ginorchoc · 15/09/2018 18:52

Thinking about it a hotel I stayed in for a wedding in Tunbridge Wells in the summer had the same in their restaurant toilets.

TheSpottedZebra · 15/09/2018 18:53

What? You've gone from love it to 'the grossest oldest style tampons and pads'.
They're normal, surely?

Thingsdogetbetter · 15/09/2018 18:53

Lots of pubs and restaurants do this were I live. Very much appreciated!

worknamechanged · 15/09/2018 18:53

My church has this. We set it up after someone had seen it at a conference they'd been at. Love it at a restaurant.

NewYearmorestress · 15/09/2018 18:53

Barnsley football club does something similar.

Thisnamechanger · 15/09/2018 18:54

No I mean the vending machines in loos that never seem to work! You end up paying about four quid for something that feels like the pillow like ones they give you at the hospital after a smear test!

OP posts:
Urbanbeetler · 15/09/2018 18:56

I bet they get stolen in some places who try to do this. It’s a lovely thing to do though.

SundayShawl · 15/09/2018 18:56

The Brew Dog bar near Tower Hill has a basket in each cubicle in the ladies: towels, tampons, face wipes and dry shampoo. It was a nice touch Smile

Thisnamechanger · 15/09/2018 19:02

Brew Dog seem like quite a cool company. Apparently if a staff member gets a new puppy they get one week pupternity leave to settle their new pooch in Smile

That's great OP and I saw something similar in a pub near me.
The cynic in me assumes not more places do it because of the CFs who take advantage of such generosity by nicking it. The same reason why pubs have the picture frames anchored on to the walls and the cushioned sewed on to the sofas!

Thisnamechanger · 15/09/2018 19:07

It'd be smashing if everywhere just assumed that women need loo rolls AND sanpro and just provided them. I can see it might get expensive though.

ANutAsBigAsABoulder · 15/09/2018 19:10

My hairdresser has this - it’s great. Just a thoughtful touch for customers and staff alike.

GimbleInTheWabe · 15/09/2018 19:12

Yes I've been caught short before and not had anyone to ask to borrow a pad so it would be great if you knew you could nip in to any loo and grab what you needed.

Don't wanna be that person but I can just imagine the world if men had periods.. you'd probably receive sanpro by mail order every month for free!

Chrysanthemum5 · 15/09/2018 19:12

We do this at work we have a lot of students there and we keep a box in the ladies loo with sanitary products; deodorant; hand cream etc so that the students don't have to worry about trying to get things in a hurry. We all just put in packs of pads, or if you get a present of toiletries you don't like you put it there.

We've never had an issue with people stealing things.

DerelictWreck · 15/09/2018 19:15

It's weird isn't it - no-one steals loo roll from public toilets but san pro/deodorant etc would get knicked (pun intended) from so many places!
