I'm on holiday and we're currently eating dinner in a beautiful garden restaurant...not too expensive... lovely staff..

Just popped to the loo and saw this in the ladies. What a lovely idea! It never occurred to me that establishments could offer sanpro on the house!

Smashing attitude Smile

Our local schools have started this. Its in a quiet corner, according to dd1, and is available to anyone to take as much as they like. Apparently there will be extras before school holidays for those who don't get any supplied at home.
We have a basket in plain sight in the bathroom for any of dd1s friends who need them too. Now that they're all 15/16 ish I've shoved in some condoms as well. I know that at least one of dd1s friends avails herself of the products- she lives with her dad who doesn't appear to buy her any. She knows she's welcome to help herself here, and I never ever comment on it.

Am now wondering about asking HR to provide free sanpro at work Smile it's a mainly female company. My head of HR is completely terrifying though!

I saw similar in the toilets for Rhuddlan castle (N. Wales) recently, and was very impressed. It also had a couple of nappies.

serendipitintea · 15/09/2018 22:09

There's one by me that has shelves with nappies wipes etc in the baby change / disabled toilet

All this great news of lady products available in many places these days, makes me wan't to be young again.. Nothing of the sort available in the oldie days. I first saw a tampax machine in a service station on the M6 motorway in 1969. and it was out of order, and the service station little shop, didn't sell any sanitary products.

Its funny really I suppose. but I once went on hols to Torquay. and decided to go and have a drink one night in this little cozy pub, and realised that it was a gay pub, it was lovely. mostly all gay guys. Anyway, I went up the stairs to the loo place, and was amazed by the toilet room. It had fresh lovely flowers on a table, the room was lavender scented, , and there was a little round table in the corner, with all ladies sanitary products on it, everything was so immaculate in there. This was in the 80's era. The bar manager said, we don't usually get ladies coming in here. and he gave me a free double vodka and tonic, and some chicken and chips in a basket !!

I had gone on this holiday with a bit of a duff partner, and he had refused to go and enter a gay pub, so I went alone, and had the best night ever. Sorry for the ramble, but sanitary products made me think about this all those years ago.

That's wonderful. And if these item were being stolen it's damn sure alright by me. I'm guessing most people don't steal and that, of those who do, most of then need the item. I've never walked into a place offering San pro and thought "ooh, I'll stock up" but I'm guessing the person who does hasn't got a lot of spare cash.

I think it's a brilliant idea and more should follow suit . My DD had her recent wedding reception in a converted barn and she provided little baskets of essentials in the loos. Tampons, panty liners , deodorant, perfume, hand cream etc and everyone commented on what a great idea and what a lovely touch it was. There was even a basket for the men ☺

“Brew Dog seem like quite a cool company. Apparently if a staff member gets a new puppy they get one week pupternity leave to settle their new pooch in”

And yet they have been taken to court and found guilty for sacking an employee because they were facing blindness? So this gimmick doesn’t extend to puppy guide dogs, we assume?

This is also the company that introduced the idiotic ‘beer for girls ‘, has a brand marketing image of the proprietors (men) all louche on a sofa with semi naked / fetish-clad women posing all over them. They are a very aggressive company commercially and have forced small independent brewers to court to get their names etc. Brewdog arenothing like the cool company they pretend to be, IMO.

Provision of emergency Sandro is very useful but really, like P&C parking spaces it is often a marketing gimmick.

And it’s working!
