If I book a courier collection to expect a courier collection?

Parcel2go.. day after day after day of rebooking and waiting in 8am - 8pm for the same excuse everyday... “we don’t guarantee collections, collections can fail, would you like me to rebook it in for tomorrow?”..

They can’t guarantee a collection - but they can guarantee taking my money..
This hasn’t just happened once.. but with every single hermes large and light collection.- about 12 in all - totalling about 20 wasted in days..

I want to cry.
They blame hermes. Hermes blames them.

I have a parcel here that is due to be delivered today.. it’s been here since Thursday and they still haven’t collected.

I have to do the school run tomorrow - bet he’ll turn up then.
Grrrrrrr..
why can’t I book a service and just expect it to be followed through with...

YANBU to be annoyed that the collection service is flaky and you arent getting what you paid for but YABU to continually use them knowing there is an ongoing issue of cancelled collections and then getting annoyed by cancelled collections.

oh god Parcel2Go are shocking - I had exactly the same problem a few years ago and vowed never to use them again. They even told me it had been collected and I was staring at said parcel in my lounge.

In the end I had to get credit card company involved to get money back. I'm surprised they are still going they are so bad.

Parcel2Go are one of these companies that sneaks themselves between you and the actual service provider (creaming of a %age, of course) and then fucks off at the first sign of trouble, telling you it's not their job to deal with the actual courier.

BTDTGTTS.

(See also "business Mobile Phone providers")

After my shitty experience with them, my employer banned anyone from using them again, and insisted couriers had to be booked direct.

The problem is that I kind of have to use them .. if I sell something on eBay and charge the next courier up price - nobody would pay.. so for example (I’ve made this up) but some skis would cost £20 with hermes and £40 odd quid with the next one up..
I wish there was an alternative in the large and light market.. as opposed to large and shite which is what we seem to have to put up with...
They still haven’t arrived btw...

Can you take them to a Hermes drop off shop? They’re normally in local newsagents/drop off shops.

Once again, the free-market has failed.

There is a gap in the market, for an enterprising outfit to offer a pre-paid, flat-rate, pack-of- courier labels for exactly this use-case.

Log in. Order a book (say 10). Website generates a sheet of labels, you download and print, and stick to each package as sold, and fill the details in on the website, so the recipient knows the score.

Nope - because the parcels are oversized.. the usual hermes guy is great.. but this service is terrible
