AIBU to ask how you've helped an immature/impulsive child at school?

My son has just started juniors. He's very bright academically but in an insane talker - talks all the time - and I've already been told by the teacher, less than a week in. He can't seem to stop/self-regulate/stop the impulse. The issue is that it's disruptive for others, obviously, as well as doing him no favours.

The teacher and I have spoken, I support whatever she needs to do. I spoke to son in front of her this am.

But what can we do at home except talk to him about it? Which we have, but that cuts little mustard. We've got a token system going for good behaviour - but because he can't seem to stop his impulses, with all the will in the world, it makes little difference at school.

What is it he does that's impulsive? Talks over teacher /other kids? At home when he talks over you or interrupts what do you do?

Yes, talks to others when he's been told repeatedly not to. Talks over teacher. Talks a lot at home, interrupts etc
