She’s smashed their iPads? Poor darlings won’t have anything to do in cattle class now....

Maybe she’ll give them crafting stuff to keep them busy....

Your suggestions please (and yes, light-hearted before I get politely slammed for suggesting iPads are necessary entertainment for children on planes —they are— )

‘Down to earth’ Hmm no she bloody isn’t! She campaign for washing machines to not be in kitchens as it was ‘disgusting’ because she has a f-Ing cluenabout the space that most people have to live in.

Rebecca36 · 10/09/2018 22:36

I've seen her programme where she furnishes a place for free or for very little and thought it was great. A lot of people don't realise they can do that and it is helpful for them. Kirstie is quite pragmatic, knows not everyone is as financially well off as her and just wants to help.

It's hardly her fault that she has more money than many others. Being jealous of better off people is pointless. There will always be someone better off, so what? That's life.

lightonthewater · 10/09/2018 22:43

I like Kirsty. She's well aware what space most people live in as she's helping them buy the space half the time. I find her warm and engaging in her property programme. Seems to me that she and Phil do like each other, so wonder what the insider gossip is on that?

ndo4000 · 10/09/2018 22:45

I have found my people here. I can't bare her over opinionated smugness!! She thinks she is right about everything!

No doubt she'll use the broken glass from the iPads to make some sort of shitty stained glass Christmas decoration.

AccidentallyRunToWindsor · 10/09/2018 22:47

She is isn't she @Ohyesiam? Always a jacket and a brightly coloured scarf and a cocktail ring.

Be she's ever so clammy under that lot

Ohyesiam · 10/09/2018 22:50

Makes me wonder how she got through this summer accidently

LellyMcKelly · 10/09/2018 22:54

Smashing kids iPads up in front of them is a bit psychotic, to be fair. That’s not normal behaviour.

wikedminx · 10/09/2018 22:54

Good for her!! My mother cut the plug off a TV once when my brother and I kept wanting to watch it! This was back in the 80's when not many channels! The only problem was that she cut the cord flush to the Tv not at the plug end! That was the end of it!

AccidentallyRunToWindsor · 10/09/2018 22:56

She must have gone through an awful lot of talc.

StrangeLookingParasite · 10/09/2018 23:10

Poor Bay Atlas

God's teeth, she seriously called one of her children that? It sounds...geographical.

PawneeParksDept · 10/09/2018 23:16

Of course she smashed their iPads because, unlike, the rest of us she can afford to spunk £2000* in order to prove a point to her DC and regain the upper hand

*Assuming she smashed all 4 of the DCs iPads

PawneeParksDept · 10/09/2018 23:17

No idea why that bit is bold

SheWoreBlueVelvet · 10/09/2018 23:18

They tend to put washing machines in bathrooms in Europe . I always thing that's really grim. Having to get your clean clothes out of the machine into a room that soneone recently took a dump in.

I don't mind her. Not stick thin, has a sense of humour, goes to the pub every programme.
Smashing iPads is beneath her though. Using them as clay pigeons would be more in keeping, I feel.

Rebecca36 · 10/09/2018 23:20

I agree with Kirstie about not having washing machines/doing laundry in the kitchen. It's a very English habit I'm afraid. However Kirstie knows that a lot of places don't have much room, I've never heard her mention it to anyone on Location. I also expect she didn't have anywhere other than the kitchen in which to put the washer when she had her first flat. Bathrooms, the ideal compromise if someone doesn't have space for a laundry room, are often too small to accommodate a washing machine.

Surely someone is entitled to give an opinion? It doesn't make them judgemental.

Viviennemary · 10/09/2018 23:39

She could go on the Loose Women panel. It's a haven for those we love to hate.

Thecrabbypatty · 11/09/2018 00:00

I saw a YouTube video on parents who decided to destroy technology when their children were being brats. One guy in America bought a gun specifically to shot his daughters laptop in a field, one went out of a window, one got a hammer and one particularly inventive Chinese dad took a drill to an iPhone and went clean through it. I showed it to my dad, he laughed and said he wished he had been more inventive rather than stamping my noughties mobile into a door step when I accidentally ran up a £200 phone bill. We laughed, I'm not permenantly scarred. Don't see the issue. Although personally I would rather sell stuff.

Amazing how quickly a lighthearted thread can die on MN these days isn't it. Sad

justilou1 · 11/09/2018 00:42

I imagine her kids have her genes and have simply hot glue gunned them back together and are smarmily sitting on the couch “pew pew-ing” to spite her.

Betsy86 · 11/09/2018 00:57

I did watch a series she did once where she would enter say village craft fairs etc as a ‘normal contestant’ but then win every flipping time with her luxurious makes. Found it quite amusing although annoying Grin

Choccywoccyhooha · 11/09/2018 01:09

I think smashing ipads on a table leg is probably a sign that you have anger issues. I'm sure her children were scared to see her lose control lime that.
Theyshouldn't have been playing Fortnite anyway, maybe if she had stopped her children from playing age inappropriate games then she wouldn't have had to smash their ipads.
I used to love Kirstie, but she's getting a bit Katie Hopkins in her desperate attempts at publicity seeking.

My kids sometimes annoy me with their tablet playing, but I turn off the Wi-Fi and take them away for a few days. I don't go around smashing things up. I'd be quite ashamed if I lost control to that extent, definitely wouldn't discuss it in public.

hadenough · 11/09/2018 04:59

An awful woman who perfectly represents everything which happens to wrong in England today.

Mummyoflittledragon · 11/09/2018 06:00

Stupid woman. Leaving a 10 yo and a 12 yo in cattle class is disrespectful to other travellers. What if they fight or get rowdy? Not to mention the message it sends to them.

Totally agree that she should have donated them or confiscated them.

Going to look at fort nite. Dds friend (10) has it and dd says she’s obsessed with it and will even play it when dd is there.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 11/09/2018 06:27

It’s like a Jamie Oliver thread ! But about someone else face it Niobe cares what she did

You just want an excuse to bash her

Idiot woman

ReanimatedSGB · 11/09/2018 09:34

I've seen some of those videos of abusive parents destroying their children's phones, consoles etc. They make me feel sick. I always hope the children manage to get away from such parents quickly as possible.
