She’s smashed their iPads? Poor darlings won’t have anything to do in cattle class now....

Maybe she’ll give them crafting stuff to keep them busy....

Your suggestions please (and yes, light-hearted before I get politely slammed for suggesting iPads are necessary entertainment for children on planes —they are— )

My husband loves Kirsties Homemade Christmas. He says watching it is a Christmas tradition Confused it’s only been on about three times but I humor him and watch her spray paint some shitty sticks from park gold when we really should be wrapping Christmas presents.

IamReginaFalange · 10/09/2018 20:56

from the* park gold

I can’t stand inverted snobs.

LuvSmallDogs · 10/09/2018 20:57

While an Xbox would definitely kill an iPad, I’m not sure it would kill the Xbox - my brother’s survived getting lobbed out the window. What does upset them is toddlers using the vents as a money box. Wink

IamReginaFalange · 10/09/2018 20:57

Her and Phil hate each other?!
Wow. Wonder if she breaks his stuff after filming location location location if she gets on his nerves?

iamnotanumber10 · 10/09/2018 21:00

Poor Bay Atlas and Oscar Hercules, not for losing their iPads but for having to go through life with those fecking names...

longwayoff · 10/09/2018 21:01

O stop worrying people. The nanny is busy crocheting new ipads for Christmas. Everything will be fine. Might even be a tv programme in it.

neffall · 10/09/2018 21:02

What do you mean now? It's been a thing ever since Gordon Brittas's wife shoved her baby in a draw at work. What else is a ft working mum to do?

I hate to say it but it was the Receptionist, not Mrs Brittas, who did this. However, the twins are Gordon's as there was a bit of a booze up and Gordon thought the Receptionist was Mrs B and it's all quite hilarious actually no not consensual sex at all he'd be prosecuted for that now madam.

WhoWants2Know · 10/09/2018 21:04

Why smash them when you can use the Find my IPad app to erase them remotely? 😁

iamnotanumber10 · 10/09/2018 21:15

She’s either not the brightest bulb ( lock up iPads, give to a charity shop, turn off WiFi etc.) or has a stinking temper. Maybe she’s not used to having kids around what with nannies/staff/schools.

I can’t stand inverted snobs

Me either. Most of the posts on here seem more concerned with where her kids go to school. Chips on shoulders anyone?

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 10/09/2018 21:23

Phil and Kirsty don’t get on?? Please can someone dish the dirt? It’s the first I’ve heard of it, mind you the way she speaks to him on LLL always trying to make him look an idiot with her, what she perceives to be,witty put downs.

Sbons?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 10/09/2018 21:30

I once sent my family back to the 1970s because the DC were being entitled, whiney brats. I didn't do it as drastically as her, I just took everything away and turned off the wifi, all they had was TV. You know what? The 1970s were dreary as hell.

Still, I'm glad that I did it. I only had to mildly threaten to do it again and they would toe the line quick as anything. Grin

lynmilne65 · 10/09/2018 21:34

Ikiboo 😂😂😂😂😂

madja · 10/09/2018 21:35

I'm also quite disturbed by how much I dislike her too. It's unlike me. Grin

brizzledrizzle · 10/09/2018 21:40

On the BBC they are quoting her as saying about her sons playing Fortnite for too long, as far as I know they are both under 12 so aren't old enough for it anyway.

IHaventACluedo · 10/09/2018 22:01

Children nowadays need to be tech literate or they will fall behind at school and lack the skills now needed in the workplace. Kirstie's inverted snobbery is misguided.

I just came back from my school intro night. The year 6's are all using iPads 1 to 1 as they need to be iPad savvy when moving up to secondary. Kirsty needs to realise that you can be iPad and app savvy along with having a good traditional education. The two are not mutually exclusive.

My older child uses an iPad all the time at school. They also have a folder for every subject that is full by the end of the year. Having a healthy mix of both is what's best, not smashing iPads and reverting back to making things out of clay and fashioning some bunting.

Rebecca36 · 10/09/2018 22:02

I imagine Kirstie just didn't think when she smashed the ipads. It was a silly thing to do but, as things go, a drop in the ocean. Why she felt the need to let everyone know about it, I cannot imagine. No-one seems to keep family fall outs private any more!

However it wasn't a hanging offence, nobody died.

Rebecca36 · 10/09/2018 22:04

Agree with whoever said what they said about inverted snobbery. Resentment exudes from some people's pores!

Nothing wrong with Kirstie, she's very down to earth and the banter between her and Phil is good natured.

Sparklesocks · 10/09/2018 22:08

I remember when she said having a washing machine in your kitchen was ‘disgusting’. So sorry kirsty, not all of us can afford houses big enough for laundry homes, we aren’t all the daughters of Barons.

She strikes me as a bit of a Marie Antoinette figure.

Beamur · 10/09/2018 22:19

I read the BBC article and found myself mostly agreeing with her! You can debate the ethics of smashing the iPads as wasteful, but she justifies herself and I bet her kids take her rules a bit more seriously now.
Can't see that it's any different to the advice frequently handed out on the teenagers board to bag stuff up and bin it...

ReanimatedSGB · 10/09/2018 22:21

Abusive twat. Destroying other people's property because you're having a tantrum is abusive behaviour, and you're probably abusive in other ways, too.
And it's doubly abusive to then go and have a noisy wank about it on the telly or on the internet. Not only has the other person lost something they valued, but they've been publicly humiliated over it, as well.

Ohyesiam · 10/09/2018 22:24

Kirsty Allsop, always so warmly dressed.

longwayoff · 10/09/2018 22:27

Thing is, I dont mind ms posh lecturing me about house prices and bullying Phil BUT it gets my hackles up when she's trespassing on my rightful territory, the second hand furniture and other recycled/upcycled stuff which is all some of us can afford as we try to furnish our Notting Hill mansions and second homes in Devon. Oh no, sorry, that's YOUR notting hill mansion and second home furnished on a shoestring and OUR tiny one bed hovels we can scarcely afford a second hand chair for.
