Just to make me feel better.

DD aged 2 has just had an hour long meltdown because she didn't want to go to the park. I never asked if she wanted to go to the park. I feel this may be related to the fact she got 3 hours sleep last night.

Give me your 'why the fuck are you crying' stories please!!

When I was a tiny, back in the 70s, I was always upset when Ernie was on.

I couldn't believe he was so Trigger for outdated terminology sub normal.

He would never be able to live alone and would always have to live with Burt (who I hated) who looked after him and was very grown up and sensible.

I pitied Ernie as he would never be able look after himself. 😳

My mother would be mystified as I sat there sobbing so hard, I couldn't speak.

Gingernaut · 11/09/2018 13:38

Sorry, watching Sesame Street.

LuluJakey1 · 11/09/2018 13:49

Today's sobbing is because she wants to get into the metre deep hole in our drive that the builders have dug to lay drains and I won't let her.

makingmammaries · 11/09/2018 13:53

I was showing pictures of puppies on my phone and she didn’t want her sister to be able to see them too.

lovetherisingsun · 11/09/2018 14:35

I'm not Dick Van Dyke. And, it's not Victorian Times. And why don't we have a chimney.

Chocolateismyvice · 11/09/2018 15:34

Because I wouldn't let him put the iPad in the water while I was having a quick bath a few days ago. I'm talking heart broken, hysterical crying for about 20 minutes. He's 18mo.

hazell42 · 11/09/2018 15:54

My son, aged 27, cried this morning when he got up to go to work at 5.30. A large frog/toad the size of my fist had got through the open patio doors and was in the living room. The best he could do was trap it in the utility room and open the back door in the hope it would escape.

TallulahBetty · 11/09/2018 15:54

She wanted to go home. We are home.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 11/09/2018 16:02

Because we couldn't buy white chocolate peanut-butter cups, because I'm an twat who forgot that £10 notes changed. So I tried to use an old one and the cashier obviously said no.

The shop hadn't actually had any peanut-butter cups! So I was only trying to buy disinfectant.

He's 10.

Loyaultemelie · 11/09/2018 16:14

Dd1 (8 yes 8 ffs!) her toast was too well done not just quickly introduced to the toaster in passing
Her younger sister got a yogurt for lunch and she didn't because she was at school dinners and had chocolate pudding instead

Dd2 (3 so tantrums actually expected) her banana had a pointy end
I said she could have a bag of crisps (not sure why this is a hanging offence)
She had snot in her nose (that would be because you have gurned for the last hour over crisps)

spinabifidamom · 11/09/2018 16:28

My 1 year old girl sobbed because I refused to let her play with fire at the weekend. We were at a barbecue it was late and I was getting ready to take them both inside for the night.

masktaster · 11/09/2018 16:38

(frequently, but not every mealtime (thankfully) at the moment):
Because DS (15 months) doesn't want to go in his highchair. Complete fighting, sobbing. So we put him in a totseat on a dining chair. All is well for a couple of minutes before he decides he'd rather be in his highchair.

Some days, if I dare fold up the highchair to get past it. Because if I'm touching the damn thing, it's to put him in.

someonekillbabyshark · 11/09/2018 16:42

Because all of the ice cream is gone Hmm

Figmentofimagination · 11/09/2018 16:45

My 16mo son had a brilliant day yesterday. It was never ending. He cried that I had picked him up, then cried when I put him down. He cried when I shifted his position on my lap so he didn't fall on the floor. He cried that his bricks wouldn't balance on his walker, that the square shape wouldn't fit in the circle hole, that I had left the room, that I had brought him back into the living room, that the tv froze, that his bib was wet (he sucked on it). It was never ending. I was counting down to bedtime.

Today has been a better day. Only time he cried today was when he couldn't see me as I had walked behind the pram for 30 seconds. But I still have 3 hours till bed time.

Loving sparklewater's story. I couldn't stop laughing.

Belletower · 11/09/2018 17:01

Gudgyx Get away with your stealth boast Wink [joking] Grin -

But seriously I hope it lasts for you. One of the fish in the tank was staring at DD earlier and you would have thought it had shat on her pancakes!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/09/2018 17:42

Ds has currently been crying for 45 minutes:

I’m hungry
Eat your dinner please
I’m not hungry
That’s fine. Don’t eat your mince. But then there’s no yogurt
But I’m hungry
Then eat your dinner please
I’m not hungry....

Oh. My. God. 45 minutes!

And now the cat has climbed on the counter and eaten his mince. So obviously now he fucking wants it.

WeeCheekyBird · 11/09/2018 17:52

15 mo dd. I ate half of one of her mandarin segments.

Full blown tantrum with snot and screaming and throwing herself around.

Not letting her stuck her finger in a plug socket.

I picked her up.

She's perked up now...thankfuckilly.

Chocolategirl79 · 11/09/2018 17:59

Dd aged 10 sobbed for twenty minutes and almost made herself sick because I've booked a dentist appointment for 2 weeks time.
No phobia, just doesn't want to go! Argh!!

lozengeoflove · 11/09/2018 18:00

4 year old cried because she didn’t want any ham and cheese in her wrap. Just butter.
She has ham and cheese in her wraps normally and loves it. Not today. Oh no. Just a sad looking buttery wrap.
I dared suggest that it might taste bland, and double checked she’s sure she doesn’t want ham and cheese. That set her off. I was BU.

Gizlotsmum · 11/09/2018 18:02

Because I wouldn’t let him eat the last custard cream and he had eaten a broken ( but all bits present one)

ohtheholidays · 11/09/2018 18:36

Because her socks had nobbly bits on Confused she hadn't turned them around all the way properly and I tried to help her and she burst into tears she is 10,11 this week but is also asd and I think the tiredness from going back to school this week has caught up with her.

over501 · 11/09/2018 20:28

Because he had a shadow. He sat down and hit it and wouldn't walk while it was in front of him.

AlphaBites · 11/09/2018 20:35

DD (9) sobbed quite hard earlier as her tablet wasn't charging properly Hmm

SplishSplashSplosh · 11/09/2018 21:05

My 2.5 year old DD just had a full on meltdown because I wouldn't let her suck the sock her 5 year old sister took off and left on the floor

couchparsnip · 11/09/2018 21:50

Because she wanted a whole banana not a cut up one. There weren't any whole bananas as we'd just cut them all up!
