Just to make me feel better.

DD aged 2 has just had an hour long meltdown because she didn't want to go to the park. I never asked if she wanted to go to the park. I feel this may be related to the fact she got 3 hours sleep last night.

Give me your 'why the fuck are you crying' stories please!!

Oh, and lots of crying both at lunch and dinner because I wouldn't let her open the hot oven.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 10/09/2018 20:20

Because I wouldn’t play ‘payday’ (it’s aged 8+) with him.

Because he was ‘just so hungry’ even though he’d eaten breakfast, fruit, some bear paws, his lunch, a plum and had 2 cups of water and it was still only 12.30.

Because I wouldn’t buy dog food for our cats (we don’t have a dog); because I went back to grab loo roll after I’d said we were leaving Asda; and because I wouldn’t buy Mexican spiced rice in a pink packet. Apparently we always buy pink rice we never buy pink rice.

For all of the above, read: because he’s 2. Thankfully 3 in 2.5 weeks. If any one even dares tell me that the threes are worse, I will hunt you down and make you look after him for an hour as punishment.

Shoobydooby09 · 10/09/2018 20:22

Because I wouldn't let my DS who's 2.5 take his ambulance to bed with the lights flashing and the sirens blaring !!! He needed it apparently. I was already carrying his bed time bear, igle piggle teddy, another teddy and his blanket. Full on meltdown for half an hour because his ambulance had to stay downstairs !! I actually thought it would have been easier to sit the blooming ambulance on his bedroom floor. The other night he had to take his colouring book to bed?? Why does he need some random object as well as all the other regular stuff he takes to bed Hmm

Jaxtellerswife · 10/09/2018 20:26

He wanted to carry a bar of soap

mgmgal · 10/09/2018 20:28

I made her listen to Freya Ridings lost without you Grin

Duskqueen · 10/09/2018 20:29

My DD (4) had a melt down today because we were at my DM's and her favourite teddy was at our house (because he is no longer allowed to leave the house after she left him in a shop and my DF had to go and fetch him).

Because she can't do tap dance, even though she did it today and has massively improved.

Because she is tired (before and after school) and then because she didn't want to go to bed.

The other day she cried for 10 minutes because she was hungry, we told her her tea was in the oven, but she said she wouldn't be hungry by the time it was done.

My DS 11 months, had a tantrum because we wouldn't let him eat the remote and he tried to make a great escape into the kitchen and we shut the gate. Oh and he had a massive tantrum the other day because he was tired and I dared to put him down for his nap, he only stopped crying when I walked into the room at which point he would laugh, so I would walk off again, cue tantrum again, this went on for 2 hours.

ButtermilkBiscuits · 10/09/2018 20:30

My toddler cried for 30 minutes because I wouldn't let him put his toy car in my mac and cheese. Confused

DisneyMillie · 10/09/2018 20:31

Because I wouldn’t let her go shopping for new shoes completely naked.

DeadButDelicious · 10/09/2018 20:33

DD 22 months had a hysterical melt down because she kicked ME in the spine. Right in the lower back. Ow.

OkMaybeNot · 10/09/2018 20:33

I got her the Moana costume she wanted out of the dressing up box. She calmed down after a while and wanted it on. Then she cried because I put it on her.

2 year olds are such melodramallamas.

TinyTickler · 10/09/2018 20:38

I wouldn't let her touch a swan.

SnugglySnerd · 10/09/2018 20:46

Yesterday it was because I moved an empty bowl that was near him at dinner time. I picked it up and he cried. Put it down and he stopped. Picked it up again - more crying.

Thebluedog · 10/09/2018 20:48

Her hair sticks up where she cut it herself
Her robot dog wouldn’t do a flip
Her tights didn’t feel right

NewUserNameTime · 10/09/2018 20:56

I have my 3 year old milk which they wanted as I had asked first..... but I gave it in the wrong green cup.

Complete meltdown

BeetlebumShesAGun · 10/09/2018 20:58

2.5 DD screamed all the way home from the supermarket because although I did give into letting her toy monkey sit on my lap, I wouldn’t let him drive the car.

“Not YOUR HANDS on wheel!! MONKEY DRIVE!!!”

AnyFarrahFowler · 10/09/2018 20:58

He wanted the “little red car”.
It was in his hand.
I told him this, many times.
The crying lasted 40 minutes.

Booom · 10/09/2018 21:01

I asked him to empty the dishwasher. it was his sister's turn and I forgot. He's 13.

BiddyPop · 10/09/2018 21:05

i don’t even know - something about finishing her coloring in of a poster (homework) while a friend waited to play and dinner was wrong and HW journal left at school and songs were wrong and she couldn’t cut the lasagna straight and......

I walked into that from work.

She’s 12. But was inconsolable!

Wishiwasonholiday1 · 10/09/2018 21:08

Because I wouldn't let my 2 year old daughter shove an orange pip up her nose...

Whereisthegin1978 · 10/09/2018 21:13

Dinner tonight. 4 year old asked for more “yummy sauce” - I gave her some and just said “here’s some more casserole” - cue crying because apparently she doesn’t like casserole. 10 year old trying to reason with her was entertaining !

Pondering1 · 10/09/2018 21:19

Because I wouldn't sit on the floor and watch the washing machine go round with him.
(After I'd sat on the floor for 15 minutes with him watching the washing machine go round).

Gudgyx · 10/09/2018 21:26

I always think DD at 3.6 is older in the head, and this confirms it. She’s never done anything like these, I feel like I’m missing out!

ethelfleda · 10/09/2018 21:40

This thread is pure gold. I am really enjoying it.

I can’t really add to it as DS is 10mo and only cries when he can’t see me sometimes at the moment. I’m sure I have all this to come though Grin

Nannyplumshairstyle · 10/09/2018 21:46

Because I cut up her grapes.
Because she wanted me to carry her whilst hanging out the laundry (she's a very heavy two year old!)
Because she wanted me to carry her whilst I was cooking on a hot stove.
Because she wanted me to carry her when I was doing a poo etc etc etc

Cloud9Until6am · 10/09/2018 21:49

Because I wouldn't let him take his battery powered cars in the bath Hmm
