to be furious about this faulty razor?

I JUST bought this razor. Walked back from the chemist with the packet in my hand. Didn't drop it, squash it or damage it in any way. Took it home, had a shower and shaved my pubic area. On the first stroke I felt some serious pain and blood everywhere. I didn't press down hard and shaved as I usually would. Looked at the razor that I had only just taken out of the packet to see that it is damaged.

AIBU to be furious about this as I not have a painful cut, or do most people check their razors before using them?

Never had this happen before...

I would send photos to the manufacturer with the barcode number too. Let them know as it could be a fault across that batch rather than just the one. Hope your shaved area is ok now!!

This happened to me once when I was shaving my head. It took a massive chunk of skin off my scalp and covered the bath in blood. I always check now before I start.

I will forever inspect my razors from now on!

Shit, ouch!! Definitely contact them. I've never had something like that happen, but I think I do look at a fresh razor before I use it, I've never thought about why!

Bombardier25966 · 09/09/2018 12:28

You're not being unreasonable to let the manufacturer know that there may (or may not) be a manufacturing fault with your razor. Although it looks like it has been dropped, possibly by the shop staff or at some point before or after that, you'll never know.

You are being unreasonable to use a bog standard razor on your pubes. Ouch.

Fluffyears · 09/09/2018 12:29

Jeez that looks dangerous. Hope you are not in too much pain. I do always have a good look at razor cartridges and will continue to check after this! X

@Bombardier25966 I wax and use it to get the strays once they start growing back. No need for a fancy razor!

I thought the reason that razor was shaped as it is, is because it can be used on pubes ?

Although the manufacturer doesn't say that...
