I should know better, I’m 40, got ragingly drunk last night and now I’m waiting for the hangover, join me with your tales of woe
(Light hearted, no lectures about sensible drinking please)

I found some antacids in the cupboard so had a couple hopefully it might help my churning stomach

Can't even enjoy lucozade as a cure anymore since they tampered with the recipe and it tastes like shit now.

Starwednesday · 09/09/2018 15:23

I’ve not had lucozade since I was a child (my mum used to give it to us if we were ill) not even sure if I like it

Lalalalalalaland · 09/09/2018 15:26

Lucozade sport not the fizzy one. It's just like orange oasis.

Always my trick

MrsJayy · 09/09/2018 15:28

Lucozade isn't the same although if you can find cans instead of bottles they are still the old recipe, god I am so old i remember the chemists selling it.

Starwednesday · 09/09/2018 15:29

Oh we sell that at my work I’ll try it when I get there (if I make it 😂)

Starwednesday · 09/09/2018 15:30

Ahem, I mentioned berocca ages ago. Along with dioralyte Wink

Starwednesday · 09/09/2018 15:31

MrsJayy · 09/09/2018 15:32

I prefer original the orange one irritates my stomach when I am hungover

SilverHairedCat · 09/09/2018 15:43

I'm on day 2, after a Friday drinking session gone wrong. My cocktails were basically neat spirits. I was puking until about 4pm yesterday, and couldn't keep anything down for more than 5 minutes. It was a particularly miserable hangover, even by my standards. I'm 37 and my hangovers have been notorious all my life.

Today my stomach hurts, I've burned my voice box with the stomach acids so I sound like I've been smoking 50 a day and I have dreadful reflux. I'm gorgeous.

Starwednesday · 09/09/2018 15:47

That sounds horrendous cat, I haven’t been sick today luckily, I’m really hoping I’m back to normal soon
I definitely think the antacids are working (although I just realised they are months out of date oops)

WonderTweek · 09/09/2018 15:52

Icouldbehappy Ahh so you did! Must have missed it. Dioralyte is an excellent choice too! Always nice to find another hangover specialist. Grin

GreenMeerkat · 09/09/2018 15:55

Haha hangover support thread. Love it.

I'm pregnant so not had one for a while but mine are bloody awful so would definitely appreciate support!

Every time I wake up feeling absolutely horrendous, have a terrible case of the 'fear' and swear I will never drink again.

Just love em!

When I worked in a very boozy industry in my 20s, very work hard play hard, I learned to get in the habit of leaving on my bedside table, before I left for work (in anticipation of rolling in hammered) a neatly laid out selection of pre-mixed pint of water with dioralyte to chug, paracetamol, can of fat coke (aka little red ambulance) and a packet of salt and vinegar crisps. I'd also set my alarm extra early for the following morning, before I left for work, to factor in extra time for lying on the bathroom floor trying to summon up the courage to get in the shower.

Hungover me would be very grateful to past me!

There was also one set of toilets in the building at work which had full floor to ceiling cubicles, so no one could see your feet. Ideal spot to go and hide for 10 mins, and sit with your cheek against the cool tiled wall, to calm your throbbing head where no one could find you

We also had the rule in our team that whoever was the last one in had to do the breakfast run to Maccy D's for medicinal mc muffins, hash browns and orange Fanta.

glintandglide · 09/09/2018 16:23

Oh silver I recognise every bit of your hangover description. I’m exactly the same. Fist bump.

SouthernComforts · 09/09/2018 16:28

I'm here.

Today I've managed to go from bed to bath and back to bed.

This hangover is evil.

I've got berroca downstairs but my stomach is heaving at the thought

ClaireUnderwoodforPresident · 09/09/2018 19:25

I'll join. Out with DH last night, decided as we'd had a big lunch to skip dinner and go straight to drinks Hmm. Needless to say I've spent the last 8 hours clutching the loo / a bucket. I'm 36 ffs. Envy sent him out for a takeaway. Hope it stays down!

SilverHairedCat · 09/09/2018 19:45

@glintandglide solidarity.

FaithInfinity · 09/09/2018 20:54

I’m still feeling ill. Had a nice pub dinner which has helped but I’m just having toast as I have a reflux/nausea thing going on. I’ll be in bed shortly.

SouthernComforts · 09/09/2018 20:55

Update. Drank the berocca.. vommed the berocca.

takeaway has stayed down though so I'm taking that as a win.

Bluntness100 · 09/09/2018 21:01

Lol at the vomming thr berocca 🤣

The good news, is you'll all feel so much better tomorrow. Promise. 💐
