Soluble soladeine helps. Have only eaten 3 slices of toast since friday. One bonus is the scales say ive lost a pound.

lowtide · 09/09/2018 13:25

I genuinely think the only thing is solpadiene 3 bottles of beer and some food(burrito-burger-fry up, delete as appropriate). Then back to bed for a nap.
Hair of the dog does genuinely work.

Mrsharrison · 09/09/2018 13:27

Yes hairy dog helps short term if youve got to get up and do things.
I didnt shower yesterday. Am going to do it now and wash my hot hair. Grin

InertPotato · 09/09/2018 13:32

Hungover.

About 5 giant glasses of red wine last night. Just shoot me now.

solpadiene looks amazing, do I need a prescription? Can't believe I've gone 45 years without knowing about this.

lowtide · 09/09/2018 13:34

You don’t need a prescription, but you do have to get it from the counter! It’s ace

Scarzo · 09/09/2018 13:35

Thank you for this thread!

I went out on Friday. Ended up doing karaoke in a dodgy pub, with even dodgier patrons. Fell asleep on the last train home and missed my stop. Had to get off at a deserted station at 2am and get an uber with only 10% battery on my phone. Next morning just couldn't stop puking. Actually thought I might have seriously poisoned myself. Awful hangover. I was eventually able to get a bacon buttie down about 1.30pm.

Redeemed myself slightly by managing to take my children to the roller disco in the evening, as promised. Even had a skate myself.

I'm 43 and should know my limits by now. So stupid and risky.

Starwednesday · 09/09/2018 13:39

I know what you mean scarzo
I’m not proud of myself
It is stupid and risky, I must have managed to get a taxi by myself but I have no recollection of it at all, I lost all my friends during the night, anything could have happened to me

I'm 30 and have been at a weekend long wedding. Needless to say my hangover is fricken huge. SOS. Send help.

Botanicbaby · 09/09/2018 13:44

3 bottles of decent Malbec with my cousin last night, up till quarter to 6 chatting & then drunken FaceTime session with distant family.

Gone back to bed to ‘rest’. Had lots of sugary cola and crisps (for the salt) earlier. Got to get up & ready for a big family lunch soon. Can’t bear the thought of wine.

Sympathy to all those suffering today Brew

lowtide · 09/09/2018 13:52

Don’t start with the catastrophising! It’s the fear. Tell yourself it’s the fear and it won’t last.

Wishiwasa · 09/09/2018 13:53

Ha ha! I read the i only drink 3 / 4 times a year as you only drink for three quarters of the year.... Blush

Mrsharrison · 09/09/2018 13:55

Yes I'vè put myself in danger many times. Don't focus on the Fear!

FaithInfinity · 09/09/2018 14:20

I have my first hangover in years. Went to a party last night, started in the gin, had a couple of cocktails, beer pong..DH had to take me back to the hotel at 11! His 80 something Nan left later than me! Tried to have cooked breakfast this morning but it made me ill. I only started feeling better once I was drinking proper coke, then I managed ready salted crisps. We’re planning to go to the pub (I’m driving!) for tea because we CBA to cook but need stodge.

Starwednesday · 09/09/2018 14:38

I think I’m at peak hangover now, I just feel so sick and dizzy

Sympathetically chortling at some of the posts on here Grin
I’ve just had a shower and washed my hot hair Grin
And applied tons of arnica to my knee, which I can hardly bend and have to stop myself from wincing out loud! Luckily, I have many aches and pains that I can legitimately cover it up with Wink
I ordered a new tube of arnica on amazon prime yesterday; it arrived earlier. I’ve applied it copiously but will need to wear trousers for the next few weeks till the bruise fades Grin
I’m 49 Wink

Can’t believe no one has mentioned Berocca! Sorts you out in half an hour. It’s the vitamin B (or B12, I can’t remember now) that does the trick. I once read somewhere that if you go into rehab for alcoholism they inject you with vit B to get you physically feeling better before getting into the mental aspect of your issue. This got me thinking that Berocca is full of vitamins so I tried it on a hangover once years ago and it worked really well. Grin

Sending virtual Fanta and bags of crisps to all sufferers. It’ll pass soon!

(I’ve not had a hangover for a couple of years due to having a young child and therefore not drinking much, but I know very well how awful they are!)

Lalalalalalaland · 09/09/2018 14:58

I'll join in. Popped to a friend's to give her son a present and got home 6 hours later rather worse for wear.

Lucozade sport to replace the electrolytes
Ibuprofen to help with inflamttion of the liver
Double dose of multivitamins
Bacon and egg sandwich.

And ideally a nap but my kids are having none of it.

I remember when we were going we could drink like that, and get up the next day and do it again.

It'll be Tuesday before I fell 100% again!

Starwednesday · 09/09/2018 14:59

Another wedding hangover here. Made it out of bed to the local cafe then went straight back to bed and haven’t moved since. Erghhhh. I really need to do some work as well (though thankfully don’t actually have to go to work, don’t envy you OP!)

MrsJayy · 09/09/2018 15:05

Ouch going to work how long is your shift?

Teenagerwoes · 09/09/2018 15:06

One and a half bottles of wine, couple of gins Blush why why why!
Haven’t managed to keep anything down all day. I’m 37 and one day I’ll learn! Confused

Starwednesday · 09/09/2018 15:08

5-10pm I doubt I’ll be very productive! Although last time this happened I made a miraculous recovery around 6pm after a rustlers burger

Drank a bottle and a bit of Sauvi B last night
Didn’t even go out !
Was just enjoying Strictly and got a bit carried away
Feel very tired and limb achy
Not doing anything today , luckily I’m home alone , watching crap TV ( say yes to the dress ) and drinking loads of water
I’m 58

Sallystyle · 09/09/2018 15:17

I am feeling a bit rough today.

I went to the Proms last night. Got the drunkest I have been for many many years and we didn't get home and in bed until gone 3.00am.

I'm not feeling too bad, just very tired and I have a bit of a headache. Could have been worse.

Sallystyle · 09/09/2018 15:19

I can't eat fatty food because I have been dieting for four weeks and I went way off base this weekend. I would love a fry up. If I don't get back to it today I fear I will never lose this last half a stone.
