To think they should never have been allowed more children ?

This couple have lost 3 children to death in a period of 16 months.
The father has now separated from the children's mother and has gone on to have a further child with his new partner.

Why oh why are these types of irresponsible parents allowed to keep on breeding?
Should laws be put in place where parents who are the direct cause of a child's death be forcibly sterilised to prevent further incidents in the future ?

Go on tell us lifeisunjust

FadedRed · 07/09/2018 21:38

Forced sterilization of certain groups of society deemed unworthy of reproducing became a popular practice in Germany in the 1930's. Then euthanasia. Look where those ideas lead to.

Sarahandduck18 · 07/09/2018 21:41

It’s better to have programs like the pause project than forcibly sterilise people.

JellieEllie · 07/09/2018 21:43

I actually didn't give my opinion on whether they should or shouldn't be sterilised forcibly, I just asked a question.

I asked because I was talking about it casually with my mum earlier and was interested in what other people thought.
IF people neglect and abuse children so much so that it results in death then why should they be given the right to continue having children ?
For the record I will state what I think, which is that if parents cannot protect and care for their children so much so that it actually causes a child's death then what right do they have to continue bringing children into the world?
In the case of the article above I just went off reading that article. Another poster has now put the story straight regarding their children (and I also just read the other thread which was tagged here) so in this case obviously they are not completely responsible for all the deaths of their children.
But for other parents who are, I do believe precautions should be put in place to prevent them getting pregnant in future.
But that is just my opinion obviously others can and will disagree.

I think eugenics may have been tried before, did you miss that lesson in school?

glintandglide · 07/09/2018 21:46

Problem is OP people like you might make the call to sterilise without the right facts, even if forced sterilisation was a humane idea

JellieEllie · 07/09/2018 21:47

People like me ?

PurpleDaisies · 07/09/2018 21:48

You talk about people “not having the right” to have more children. The only way to stop people having more children is to enforce contraception or sterilisation. That’s totally unethical.

Your opinion comes across loud and clear.

ghostyslovesheets · 07/09/2018 21:51

yes people like you who propose that other people 'should never be allowed more children' - how do you suggest you stop them?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/09/2018 21:52

Burke said he didn't no of the dangers of children sleeping in car seats

and the effects of the "chain smoking chaotic lifestyle" probably didn't penetrate his skull either Hmm

JellieEllie · 07/09/2018 21:52

Trust me when I say that my relative absolutely does not deserve the right to have children. I obviously cannot go into details of her cases but the absolute right decisions were made when they were all taken from her at birth.
Anyone who physically harms, neglects or kills their children should not be given a right to have further children. They really shouldn't.
But again; it's only my opinion and I really am interested as to what other people think. It's always nice to be educated on matters. I do enjoy listening to others opinions. On a lot of occasions it's actually made me change my own.
I don't believe there is a need for nastiness because someone's opinion differs from your own, if you think that someone is wrong in what they are saying then try and help them to change the way they think and give them all angles of the discussion.

Unfortunately you can't stop anyone from having children. We have all the contraception choices available but you can't force it.

An old pal from teenage years got involved in heroin, She has given birth to 4 children, they're all in care. At least now with the abortion referendum more women will have the choice to terminate, An addict would not have 1000 to travel to the UK. It is very sad.

VladmirsPoutine · 07/09/2018 21:53

The logical end conclusion of this is a society full of David Cameron's and Boris Johnson's. I don't want that type of world.

NotANotMan · 07/09/2018 21:53

How the hell do you think someone can be 'not allowed' to have more children?

TittyGolightly · 07/09/2018 21:53

High quality reporting from the Mirror, as ever. Hmm

RedneckStumpy · 07/09/2018 21:54

How would you stop them? Irradiated their reproductive system at the hospital door.

PurpleDaisies · 07/09/2018 21:55

Anyone who physically harms, neglects or kills their children should not be given a right to have further children. They really shouldn't.

How do you think this should be enforced?

JellieEllie · 07/09/2018 21:56

Well that's what I'm asking ? How could we stop them?
Is there a way?

OP posts:
PurpleDaisies · 07/09/2018 21:57

There is no way to stop someone getting pregnant without forcing contraception or sterilisation on them.

user1457017537 · 07/09/2018 21:58

Born premature and lots of health problems so they didn’t kill them. Well they didn’t fucking look after them like you would premature babies either did they, ffs who leaves babies in car seats for up to 25 hours and goes out drinking leaving them all alone. Fuck sake stop making excuses for low lifes

user1457017537 · 07/09/2018 21:58

15 hours

glintandglide · 07/09/2018 21:58

YOU don’t give them the right to have children. No one can award the right. It comes automatically as a direct result of being a human being

glintandglide · 07/09/2018 21:59

There is no evidence the car seat contributed to the death. It’s unexplained
