I have a month old baby, every night me and my partner find ourselves in tears as she just screams/spews/doesn't settle back down.
He turned over and said "why doesn't this child sleep I can't cope"
So I said "nor can I. I've been up with her since 11 (it was 2.15) I'm shattered"
He said "I'm just as tired"

The other night we had pretty much thr same conversation but instead I kept going and I replied no you're not, I'm more tired. Then he says "I doubt that"

In the end he took our dd downstairs about 3 and is complaining he only managed an extra hours sleep. Our relationship is never going to survive if we keep fighting stupidly like this :(

Hi OP, please accept my apologies I hadn't read through all of the posts when I posted and I was only replying to your original post about competitive tiredness. I really hope things get easier for you soon xx

Friday night I did sleep downstairs with dd, she didn't fall asleep until 2am, by then eldest dd was waking so me and my partner switched (he came down with eldest dd, she prefers the couch Confused .) I went back upstairs with dd, she didn't fall back asleep until 4ish. Was awake again by 6. So the only person missing out here is me?
Last night was better, because I co slept. So got three hours sleep, but again it's me dealing with it on my own?? I'm back downstairs with dd as she wouldn't settle.

I'm in a council house, barely have enough money to afford this house. Could never afford to private rent unfortunately. We are on the bones of our arse skint right now so that'd Bank rupt us :(

What happens in the mornings. Can your husband not take all the kids then so you can sleep?

I think most parents have this row-we do. DC1 was always a shitty sleeper, DH and I were ready to kill each other.
DC2 was bad the first 8 weeks (as expected with a newborn) but then got better. She’s just turned six months though and decided to Stop sleeping sonthe “ who is more tired” game has started again.
