To ask you where to find a new cleaner?

Have had loads of CFery behaviour (eg not cleaning but painting staircase when not asked to and dripping white gloss over my oak wood flooring). Today was the last straw. I got a long text message as she was angry I hadn't paid her for a day she HADNT worked! (Got a message on the day saying I'm not coming today)

Fed up now and want to trial another cleaner but no one nearby I can get a reco from. Streetlife used to be fantastic for local recommendations but not since it was taken over.

AIBU to ask you for your help?

She painted?! Whose paint? Gumtree is best in London. Back home in rural sticks, newsagent window cards.

Recommendations here.

We found our cleaner through friends

I mostly get my cleaning jobs through recommendations through current clients and Facebook. Do you have a community Facebook page ? Ask on there. Then you would get people who have actually used them.

@CSIblonde she brought her own paint!!!

Thanks everyone. In London and thought of gumtree but also thought it might be a bit dodge? No friends near enough for recos unfortunately x

Did you make her pay for the paint job to be fixed? I’d have fired her on the spot.

Ask for recommendations locally.

Hmm. Covering up her fag burns on the woodwork? Or was she trying to say she didn't approve of your decor? Bonkers!
