To make rashers in the microwave at work?

I'm thinking i might streamline my morning by eating breakfast at work. I do this sometimes and it means i'm not hungry by 11am. So far i've only ever had yoghurt or cottage cheese. I was thinking of maybe doing scrambled eggs in winter. But would I be unreasonable to do rashers in the microwave. i have one of these www.amazon.co.uk/Sistema-Microwave-Easy-Bacon-28-7/product-reviews/B076DFYL44/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_paging_btm_2?pageNumber=2&reviewerType=all_reviews&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8 so i wouldn't make a mess. I get in very early...

Why do you insist on referring to using the microwave as "taking over"? Along with calling people names for causing you to wait your turn it really seems to indicate that you don't think other people have as much right to use a communal facility as you. That's why PPs have said you sound self-important and that the "entitled baby" label fits you better.

Take a step back and ask yourself, is calling people entitled babies mature? Is complaining about having to wait your humble?

Slarti · 07/09/2018 17:23

*wait your turn

CarolynKnappShappey · 07/09/2018 17:30

And why is anyone talking about mess and clearing it up anyway when it’s not remotely relevant to the OP who said, with links, in her OP, that she’d be cooking in an entirely enclosed container?

Maddy70 · 07/09/2018 17:35

I wouldn't think twice about cooking bacon it's a lovely smell. It's not unpleasant is it? I'm surprised at the amount of posters who are saying no

LorelaiRoryEmily · 07/09/2018 17:37

Op I’m Irish and I Call them rashers, because that’s what my English mother has always called them

bellinisurge · 07/09/2018 17:38

@Slarti - so good at analysing people. Hope you do it for a living.

Slarti · 07/09/2018 17:44

Ah so it's only OK when you're the one passing judgment on people?

BakedBeans47 · 07/09/2018 17:50

Cant you take stuff in that is filling / protein but doesn't smell?

Just thought I'd add that in my experience people who are strict about keeping kosher are not very likely to use a communal microwave regardless of whether people heat up bacon in it because of the need to keep dairy and meat separate. People who are strict won't care about the appliance and only about what they themselves eat.

OP I think you have to read the room a bit here. This would not be a problem in my office at all but our microwaves are in a canteen room so smells are a given, and people eat all sorts at their desks.

MairyHole · 07/09/2018 18:47

Second sentence should read aren't strict obviously.

GoldenMcOldie · 08/09/2018 11:33

@slarti, you are very invested in bacon rights GrinGrinGrin

Not sure why bacon lover's trump vegetarians/religious objectors etc but don't really care enough to argue with you about it.

TheWinterofOurDiscountTentsMk2 · 08/09/2018 12:52

I think anyone who takes over the communal microwave and makes it stink is an entitled baby

How is using it, the same way you use, "taking over"? How is heating food that has a smell, same as your food heating makes a smell, makes someone an entitled baby?
And if it does, then you have just described yourself as an entitled baby!

Slarti · 08/09/2018 23:15

@goldie ah if I post it's because I'm invested, but if you post it's because you don't care. That makes sense Grin
