Just had an email from ASDA Sad they are stopping the price guarantee they offer from 3rd October.

Drats, that's yet another way to save some money gone.

I am really disappointed in Asda and in Sainsburys for phasing out Nectar and Tesco for doing the same.

Don't these companies care that we broke?!?

Long live Boots whose scheme was one of the first and has remained stalwart throughout - saved many a christmas that has!

Isn’t it just on brand stuff though? Their own brand pasta is already 15p more expensive than Tesco’s...

AnotherCareerThread · 04/10/2018 10:43

Brexit.

LOL

No.

WingsofXXSteel · 04/10/2018 10:45

I don't know the details but do know I regularly got £5-£15 vouchers from a big shop so it will be missed.

notanaturalmum · 04/10/2018 10:48

There was A LOT of fraud.
I'm not talking about people getting receipts from old trolleys/the floor/car park and claiming APG money.
That's par for the course.

I'm talking about serious fraud. People generating thousands of pounds by exploiting APG loopholes and playing the system.
That kind of fraud is unsustainable for the business.

I'm sorry that it means some people are losing out. But I expect it will ensure that ASDA continue to offer the best prices it can.

Don't these companies care that we broke?!?

Why on earth would they?! Companies are there to make money, they don't give one shiny shite about their customers so long as they keep spending.

IceRebel · 04/10/2018 10:52

notanaturalmum I have no idea how people managed to generate 1000s of pounds, I thought the amount on the APG was restricted? I know lots of items weren't included in the comparisons, which is why the amounts were in the vast majority of cases less than £5

rebelworld · 04/10/2018 10:55

How did it work?? I shop there all the time but haven’t noticed it before?

ToadOfSadness · 04/10/2018 11:24

ASDA and Sainsburys are planning to merge, they need to save the money for themselves.

WingsofXXSteel · 05/10/2018 22:45

Then I guess Lidl is calling...

Samcro · 05/10/2018 22:58

yanbu I will miss it

icelolly99 · 05/10/2018 23:09

Yep, loved checking receipts to see if I've 'earnt' a voucher.
