I hate whatever

Is it unreasonable of me to cringe about people replying to perfectly civil questions with an eye roll and "whatever" and a big sigh?
I m not talking about kids. This lady is 40 and my friend. It boils my blood!
Or am I being oversensitve?

Anyway, it's no way to behave towards someone who goes out of their way to drive you home, and I would tell her so ASAP. You don't have to get angry or emotional, nor tiptoe around the subject, because you are in the right.
If she's a decent person she'll see that her eyerolling and teenage attitude is very inappropriate, and she'll make an effort to behave like an adult. If she's not, then you get to stop being used for lifts by someone who treats you with contempt.

Stop give her choices! Then she can't whatever. Tell her what time you will collect her. You're doing her a favour regardless of petrol money. If she doesn't like the timing she can make other arrangements. You want to be in early, then be in early. Big girl pants!

If she eye rolls etc, go 'omg you're exactly like xxx in year 11. You do her soooo well! Lol
Do her again!' A bit of light mocking which reminds her it's a teenage girl reaction should embarrass it out of her.

I am definitely trying that! There's a girl I will call Alice (not her name) in year 11 who does all this. Mostly to her poor boyfriend but often to the unfortunate drama teacher and we do have a moan in the staff room about her!
Maybe my 40 year old colleague will realise her behaviour is stupid if she gets compared to a 16 year old.
Ironically I don't often get the eye rolls from the kids.
This morning I sent a quick text before leaving and said I will be at yours at 8. See you then. It worked
