To ask what's going to happen to my lemon drizzle cake?

Instead of adding just the rind, i put the lemon juice in the cake batter as well. The juice was meant for the drizzle..

What's going to happen? Is it going to rise? I'll know in 45 minutes but any advice appreciated..

Dont panic, I had another lemon for the drizzle. Phew.

I am relieved that you had another for the drizzle!

I always add some juice aswell as rind to the main cake and it’s fine! How much did you put in?

steff13 · 02/09/2018 03:23

It will probably just be a little more moist.

CatRen27 · 02/09/2018 03:34

Thank goodness! Its looking golden and slightly risen after 50 mins in the oven, the proof is in the pudding.. (sorry.. iadbu with a pun like that)

Did you taste it?

CatRen27 · 02/09/2018 05:48

Nope haven't tasted it yet. I decided to make another layer, ice it (including lemon juice in the buttermilk) and take it for pudding at my parents place.. at least it looks alright 😂

I was given the advice to give any culinary disasters a name, preferably regional.
Dorset Lemon Flat Cake
Catalan Charred Chicken
Armenian vegetables (comes in 2 types undercooked and overcooked)

CatRen27 · 03/09/2018 00:26

Thanks all, it didn't seem to make a difference to the taste, just a bit firmer and more moist than usual. 😁

breakfast I will definitely be adopting that one! If it has a name, it's legit, right?
