Not sure whether to say something... Kind of the last straw type of thing.
Basic background info:
We moved in to a new build 3 years ago. Neighbor had been in their house about 6 months longer than us. Moved in as soon as it was finished. Ours was bought before us but fell through. We are the only family to live here. When we moved she said that they were a very loud family and had gotten used to having no nextdoor neighbor to upset. First red flag.
Since then they have regularly had verbally violent sounding arguments. It's a mum and son. Very frequently having to call the police, send him away to friends etc. Not sure what's going on but it's not a happy household.
BBQs all summer with no thought for others. Washing out etc. We also seem to live in a very young street. By that I mean out of 16 houses, 10 have preschool age and younger children. So noise is obviously not appreciated late in the day.
Anyway. Last night, after I had spent over an hour getting my DS to sleep, because they were having a row in the back garden, and kept waking him up, I did my housework and got in to bed at 10. The kid next door and another from a few streets away were playing bloody football in the street! Kicking the ball against another neighbours garden wall. Bouncing it. Talking very loudly. It was pitch bloody black!
So I opened the window and said boys. But before I could finish another neighbour opened the door and yelled so I shut the window. But it's just tipped me over the edge now. I haven't said anything because I don't envy her. She has a hard time with her kid. But part of me feels I have left it too long now... However I have really had enough.
I also don't want to confront her because she is so intimidating, and i do have to live here. We are both owners not renters so can't complain to anyone, or can I?
Should I be pathetic and send an anonymous letter?
