To be pissed off about shopping trolleys?

Why is it that people just abandon their shopping trolley in car parks? For fuck sake that's twice now my car has been scratched by the bastard things. I've seen many parents just abandon their trolley, or worse, shove it away from them into the car park, after they've packed little Rosie and Jim into their car seats. I know it's a ball ache running the trolley back into the trolley bays but ffs!
Trolleys just bash about in car parks when not fastened in, the wind gets them or other people get pissed off and shove them around.
Please tell me that im overlooking and very good reason why people do this?

I don't think you are, it's just sheer laziness.

Ovaltine1 · 31/08/2018 07:12

This is why I love the £1 trolleys. It ensures that people return it to the bay.

SneakyGremlins · 31/08/2018 07:14

Or when they end up in the road Confused

wowfudge · 31/08/2018 07:17

They're just lazy fuckers who think it's someone else's job. There was a thread about this recently and a surprisingly large number of posters had all sorts of supposedly valid reasons for not putting their trolleys in a trolley bay. I find the most irritating the trolley lurking at the bottom of a parking space which you can't see until you start turning into what looks like an empty space.

It’s not just parents!

Amanduh · 31/08/2018 07:17

Oh and I agree!

LyndorCake · 31/08/2018 09:01

Absolutely not just parents who do this, but I see them doing it the most.
I never saw the other thread (if anyone had a link, please share!) What sort of excuses were they giving?

They’re willingly losing out on a pound!

Sparklingbrook · 31/08/2018 09:04

Yes the thread recently people were claiming it gave the supermarket staff a job to do. Hmm

Most supermarkets don't have a dedicated trolley collecting person. They grab someone off the tills or shelf stacking.

They are probably the same people that complain about queues at the checkouts and empty shelves.

I definitely do not leave my trolley - take it home then scrap it for £20

Not really!!!!! 😁😂🤣😃😅- I'd return it £1 or no £1
