I saw a link on facebook about a youtube video titled 'men hit back!!'

it's basically a compilation of men hitting women, and the comments is chock-full of MRAs supporting the video saying how the women "deserved it"

shouldn't this be classed as a hate crime? what if someone uploaded a compilation of white people hitting black people? that would be racist and a hate crime wouldn't it? so how come racism is taken seriously but misogyny is a big joke for MRAs to laugh at?

This is an issue I've raised before but gender based crime is not recognised as either a hate incident or crime.

If you hit someone & they hit you back it's all fair as far as I'm concerned. It doesn't matter about your race/gender/sexuality.

Some police forces have started recording violence against women as a hate crime which is hugely important - it should be totally standard and across the board imo
