I desperately need cheering up. AIBU to ask you to share stories of funny things your pets have done, or funny/unexpected places they have turned up when they were feared lost?

These aren’t exactly hilarious, but my cat has managed to get into an apparently closed wardrobe (and shut the door behind her) and necessitated part of a friend's kitchen to be ripped out when she got behind some panelling and refused to come out.

(Not sure whether I this sounds like I'm a journo, but I promise I'm not.)

Thank you.

Not long after moving in to our new home, dh decided he would surprise me by fitting some new flooring in the utility room while I was at work.
Unfortunately out ddog didn't like it...
And another of our ddogs not loving the goal net!

My dog Monty (can you guess from my username) always sleeps with his tongue out...

He also one year ran off with the Christmas roast goose (counter surfed while we were distracted) and thought the whole thing was one big game. Four of us chased him round the house and he got goose fat everywhere! Obv had to throw away but he had the best meal out of all of us...I defrosted some burgers Grin

Justilou1 - my current dachshund is a softy but the previous one would sometimes terrorise large dogs - just by attitude and noise, never actually attacking them. Although we never trusted him near a boxer after a boisterous one accidentally trod on his face and hurt his eye ... owners seeing us leash ours in as we approached each other would say, it's fine, he's friendly... we'd have to explain that ours seemed to have sworn vengeance on the whole boxer tribe, and we were protecting their dog.

My cockatiel would get very randy and protective over mini eggs. Easters were hilarious.
He also used to attack bare toes. His little crest would look like a jousting pole as his head went down and he would charge full speed across the floor to peck them.
He also used to woo my DM's pie blackbird. He had to be locked out the kitchen if she was pie making.

The tabby cat likes to sit with a paw or two inside a shoe. This morning he decided that my sports bra was the place to be instead.
Dd1 felt it necessary to inform the vet of this.
Both cats bat each other over the head. The black and white one likes to stealthily approach the tabby whilst the tabby is in the litter tray and bop him on the head before dashing off.

We lost our puppy when she was maybe 12 weeks old. We'd just ordered a takeaway and as we sat to eat realised she wasn't trying to get our food. Checked the tiny flat. Screamed her name. Ran down the street, and my ex ran to the park shouting her name while I ran home to get my phone and lock up the house to join him in the search. Just the smallest of niggle made me open the almost completely closed door to the box room that was ALWAYS shut and she'd never been in before. There she was, in that dead to the world baby sleep, sprawled out on the sofa bed. Must've crept into the 'secret room' and thought, 'yes, this is mine now!' I called my ex, in a whisper voice so as not to disturb her sleep.... Grin

We have two sofas, DP sprawls on one and I sprawl on the other.

DDog also likes to sprawl on "my" sofa.

She has taken to going to the back door and asking to be let out, and while I open the door for her, she trots back into the sitting room and nicks my seat.

She's getting on a bit and finds getting through the dog flap a bit tricky. She uses it as a knocker instead: clatters the flap until one of of us goes and lets her in or out.
