What sayings cringe you out? Mine just recently is 'making memories' I absolute cringe so hard when I see it all over Facebook and Instagram.

People #who #hastag #the #shit #out #of #everything.

#eatingmytea #cheesesandwich #lemonade or whatever the hell it is they’re eating.

BuffaloCustardbath · 27/08/2018 20:34

I can't pinpoint why but "well deserved" really riles me.
"Off on a well deserved weekend away with the girls"
Oh, and "cheeky" - "having a cheeky glass of wine now the kids are in bed" RAAAAAAAHHHHHH! So irritating!

LEELULUMPKIN · 27/08/2018 20:34

Tentontruck Never been on FB or Twatter but I would be tempted to sign up to see your dogshit. Love it.

Cheeky gives me the rage.

ILoveAllRainbows · 27/08/2018 20:35

I can't stand 'date night' personally

I was about to say this too.

wheezing · 27/08/2018 20:36

Oh oh oh my absolute worst is #lifegoals that people put on pictures of themselves doing things like getting married or having babies or whatever, usually the marriage thing. I don’t exactly know what they mean by it put I take it that they’re saying that they consider their marriage to be a life goal for the rest of us and somehow they’ve achieved something special and ... ugh I don’t know.

Fiveletters · 27/08/2018 20:36

@MartagonLilies love you all the world is one of the worst. It makes my toes curl.

Strokethefurrywall · 27/08/2018 20:37

Well they can all #fuckoff Cardibach Smile

I barely tolerate facebook but only because i`m overseas and keep in touch with my massive family and see what cousins are up to etc.

But alas I live on a small island and have lots of hashtagging friends so I just hide most of them.

I don't understand what is cringe about making memories?
If you're spending time with your kids that is exactly what you're doing

So every second that Im spending with my kids I need to be aware that Im #makingmemories? I cant remember what I scarfed for breakfast let alone what memory Im supposed to have stored from my 6 hours with my kids yesterday.

You cant force people to make memories every single day. My kids remember the most bizarre things and have memories of their own. Sure, going on vacations, or doing something adventurous with them is probably going to cement itself in their minds if its out of the ordinary, but spending 2 hours pushing them on the swings at your local park probably won`t cut it.

Seriously, people want to make friggin memories out of the most mundane shite.

Alconleigh · 27/08/2018 20:38

Sad cases of terminal illness aside, making memories as a phrase is nonsense, yes. Firstly, we all make memories all the time, unless cognitively impaired; if we didn't we'd all be living in that Fifty First Dates film. Secondly, it seems to refer to doing entirely normal stuff with your children, like taking them on days out, like our own parents used to do with us....do people really think they are doing something unusual? And thirdly, people are deluded if they think they can manipulate what their children remember most clearly from their childhood.....you could plan the most perfect day imaginable and a pound to a penny your children will remember the man they saw having a wee by the side of the road, or similar.

LEELULUMPKIN · 27/08/2018 20:38

You never see #Baliffstakingthetv or #Coinstarsavesmyarseyetagain do you?

Jozen · 27/08/2018 20:41

I have someone who's got "live life like it's your last" as her bio.
What does that mean? Do we have more than one? How do you know if you are on your last now?

keyboardkate · 27/08/2018 20:42

Facebook and the likes are the cause of an awful lot of anxiety in people these days. No wonder, it is just the fantasies of someone else making their "friends" and "followers" wonder why they are not experiencing the same.

I left all that shite behind a year or so ago. The transformation has been brilliant in me. Whatsapp is fine to share photos/vids now. And for the future.

Ditch it folks, but I suspect not many will. Afraid of missing out on something. Which in itself is not good either.

OK huns?

Sedona123 · 27/08/2018 20:42

YANBU. "Making memories" makes me cringe too. Also anything being "Bucket list" if you're not terminally ill as I have a terminally ill very close relative and find that massively insensitive.

Last one is on an American TV show, so probably will be here soon, it's "growing our family" 🤢 means having more kids (if that's not obvious!!).

Honeypickle · 27/08/2018 20:45

Loving #fuckoffSusan upthread Grin

GetHappy · 27/08/2018 20:47

I hate when people say “look what’s popped up again” .... No dumbass ... you re-share it every year so of course it will “pop up”

Also, people that share every second off their day!! If you really are having “the best” time why are you on your phone

Adviceplease81 · 27/08/2018 20:47

I also can’t stand ‘love you/them all the world’ or ‘#mywholeworld’. I’m not sure why.

It always seems disingenuous.

Banana8080 · 27/08/2018 20:49

MASSIVE CRINGE

snap!!!!

Everyoneiswingingit · 27/08/2018 20:50

YABU that's what FB is all about ( showing off has become acceptable) and why I came off years ago.Liberate yourself!

MissesBloom · 27/08/2018 20:50

Ugh my cousin refers to her husband on Facebook, Instagram and in person as 'hubby bubby', makes me want to vomit all over her!

wheezing · 27/08/2018 20:50

I hate when people say “look what’s popped up again” .... No dumbass ... you re-share it every year so of course it will “pop up” *
Ha yes and also you’re using that Time Hop app to make thing pop up?? Things don’t just “pop up” unless you get the app to specifically make them pop up.

ethelfleda · 27/08/2018 20:52

#liveauthentic or similar with a picture of bare feet on grass taken from above. Just fuck off and put your fucking shoes on.

I had a lovely day the other day. It never occurred to me to post any of it on social media as I was too busy enjoying my day.

I just deleted Instagram last night. It was the last one to go. Now I mainly spend my spare time on here being cynical.

1sttimeunicorn · 27/08/2018 20:54

I hate ‘those x tho’ for example ‘those cheeks tho’ and ‘those eyes tho’ when people write about their kids. Though what? Confused

QueenofStella · 27/08/2018 20:54

FB posts akin to ‘AB is pissed off with a certain person’

And comments

‘you ok Hun?’
‘Pm me Hun’

And my personal favourite:
‘Snakes the lot of them hun’ (with the obligatory snake emoji)

DolorestheNewt · 27/08/2018 20:54

Second, third, fourth, fifth hubby. Awful, awful, awful. I completely understood a post I once read on MN (can't find it now so I'm paraphrasing): "I knew I'd found the right site for me when I realised that it was more acceptable to call DH a cunt than hubby."
