What sayings cringe you out? Mine just recently is 'making memories' I absolute cringe so hard when I see it all over Facebook and Instagram.

#generallylovingliferightnow is awful. 😂

OrgyOfBarminess · 27/08/2018 19:38

Anything with a hashtag mostly

Atthebottomofthesea · 27/08/2018 19:38

I came to say 'forever home' too. Usually said by people trying to justify overstretching themselves.

Flameless · 27/08/2018 19:40

NonJeNe WTF is a 'threenager'? Is it twat speak for a 3 year old? I'm not on Facebook so not familiar with this wankery.

FeminaSum · 27/08/2018 19:40

I hate 'making memories' too. You're just doing stuff. Maybe your kids will remember it when they're adults, maybe they won't. They probably won't remember the things you intend them too.

Also 'sleeps' instead of days or nights, as in 'three sleeps 'til my birthday!' (ugh.)

All the cutesy babyish language - kiddies, kitties, and so on. And 'grown-ups.' They're people who have grown up. The noun is adults.

Xenadog · 27/08/2018 19:41

“Feeling blessed” can fuck right off too!

Any smug wanker who says this needs the universe to dollop a large cow pat on their perfect life.

iklboo · 27/08/2018 19:41

Fam a lam is family (or can be extended friendship group as well)

Zippitydoodar · 27/08/2018 19:42

Awesome, I hate that word!
When someone dies my cousin always puts her Facebook status as 'fly high' every time.
Love you to the moon and back.
Love you lots like jelly tots.
Love you too much. It's not possible!

I need to come off Facebook.

Burlea · 27/08/2018 19:43

My best friend is 'Making Memories' as she is having brain surgery next week, which could leave her either blind, disabled or even death. She has 2 young children. Hopefully she comes back ok, this is her 2nd of 4 planned operations.

NonJeNeRegretteRien · 27/08/2018 19:43

@Flameless - I’m not on FB either, this obnoxious turn of phrase was used irl. Indeed, it’s a 3 yr old. Hmm

Flameless · 27/08/2018 19:45

Hmm indeed NonJeNe. Thats terrible.

Timeisslippingaway · 27/08/2018 19:47

Just a few of the reasons I don't have fb. People make me sick 😂

PrincessConsuelaBannanaHammock · 27/08/2018 19:48

Thanks iklboo
Think I'll just stick to saying family 😂

iklboo · 27/08/2018 19:48

I don't get 'love you to the moon & back'. That's less than 500,000 miles (477,800 or so really). The Proclaimers have done well more than that by now. I ain't getting out of bed for anything less than 'to Alpha Centauri and back'. Grin

angieloumc · 27/08/2018 19:50

Making memories makes me cringe but one which for some inexplicable reasons irritates me is when people put 'guys' in posts or videos.
For example "Right guys, we've got a great offer for you this week." Gets right on my nerves.

cloudyweewee · 27/08/2018 19:50

When I hear of someone 'making memories', I always assume that they have a terminal illness.

nocoolnamesleft · 27/08/2018 19:51

We use the phrase "making memories". Usually as part of the sentence, in a multidisciplinary meeting, "Child X has moved on into the palliative stage, and the family are concentrating on making memories" - it does mean that hearing it used in healthy families makes me cringe.

DaphneDiligaf · 27/08/2018 19:53

That's exactly what the phrase means to me, not some random day out.
I hope all goes well for her. X

Adviceplease81 · 27/08/2018 19:53

Feeling nauseous after reading these.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 27/08/2018 19:55

Grin at 'love you to Alpha Centauri and back'. At the moment that's fine because it would be more than a lifetime to go there and back with current technology. But if technology improves and we manage to build ships that can travel at half light speed then potentially the journey to Alpha Centauri and back could be done in a couple of decades or so. And with time dilation the traveler wouldn't even age as much as that. So loving someone to Alpha Centauri and back would be a medium-term proposition only.

MartagonLilies · 27/08/2018 19:56

Love you all the world - usually typed as 'luv ya all de world'
What the fuck does that even mean? Confused

tillytrotter1 · 27/08/2018 19:57

Can I add all those cringe-worthy 'motivational' things people have on their wall in place of art?

SydneyCarton · 27/08/2018 19:57

I see your “hubby” and “hubster”, and I raise you “husbot”

🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

TangelasVine · 27/08/2018 19:58

Agree about #makingmemories as kids remember the most random stuff sometimes and won't necessarily remember the instagram worthy stuff.

#Freerangekids aka they went outside

Any hashtag of a child's name like they are a celebrity. Isn't members of the public searching for a child they don't knows hashtag a bit odd?

Chickenwings85 · 27/08/2018 20:00

Yes that's exactly what I mean! Seeing healthy families say 'making memories'
Living my best life is an other one too.
