I just googled beer and found the beer Church of England primary school. I'm guessing the place is named because of a brewery or something? But why is nasty called nasty? Or do I really want to know? Maybe it's particularly nasty weather?

@Pickachew & @MichonnesBBF I live near to Pityme too!

There's also a place called Fryup.

@NicoAndTheNiners - I used to live near the Land of Nod which is actually just a field !

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 26/08/2018 16:12

I lived in Bethania, near Joppa and Nebo...

There used to be a street near Monument in London, which thankfully had its name changed a few decades ago for obvious reasons.... Grope C Lane! Dated back to when streets were commonly named after the trades that congregated there...Pudding Lane for bakers etc. Grope C Lane was favoured by ladies of the night back then. They didn’t mince their words in those days!

We have just moved and don't live very far away from Nasty, mainly commented to tell you all the road near to where DP grew up. See map. 😂

I live in Sodom.

We're wicked round here...

Bluelady · 26/08/2018 16:22

We live near Pidley, my mum and I went into fits of childish laughter when we saw a woman called Eliza Tibbles had died there.

PavlovianLunge · 26/08/2018 16:23

We live not far from Fanny Hands Lane. I assumed it was named after a person, so I googled Fanny Hands. It didn’t go well.

For my dad's 60th birthday, me and DH paid for my parents and their friends to take a cable car up Wank Mountain. It made us all snigger.

There's a school called Sexey's School somewhere in England. I always think that's quite inappropriate.

TinDogTavern · 26/08/2018 16:34

Waves @athenajm80! Smile

NicoAndTheNiners · 26/08/2018 16:38

Friend of mine went to Sexeys school.

NicoAndTheNiners · 26/08/2018 16:38

longwayoff · 26/08/2018 17:16

BlackStoneCherie · 26/08/2018 17:20

@NicoAndTheNiners , I know. When I was little whenever my dad was going out and I asked him where, he would reply 'to the land of nod', which at that time I thought he was going to the place where people went to sleep.
On growing older, the first time I saw the street sign for 'The Land of Nod' I ran all the way up there - about a mile or so - and all I could see was fields. So I asked someone where it was, and they told me I was looking right at it.
Such a big bubble was popped that day, as I truly thought I'd found the place where people went to sleep! Sad

BlackStoneCherie · 26/08/2018 17:22

Think my favourite name of all though is a street name, not a place name.

It's in York at the bottom of the Shambles, a tiny street called ........ Whip Ma Whop Ma Gate. Grin love it!

LightDrizzle · 26/08/2018 17:23

My best friend lived in Wetwang.

Bluelady · 26/08/2018 17:25

Whip Ma Whop Ma Gate is amazing. I've always loved that too.

FadedRed · 26/08/2018 17:32

HelloKitty Wank is near Garmisch-Partenkirchen in southern Germany. We stayed there a couple of years ago and sent lots of postcards. Very juvenile of us. Lovely place, cable car up the mountain and nice walk back down.
There is also a suburb of Berne called Wank.

SpanielPlusToddler · 26/08/2018 17:40

I used to live in a village called Dyke and not far away from where I live now is a village called Cock Bridge.

BikeRunSki · 26/08/2018 17:46

I live near Mold Green and Bog Green and once had lunch in Urine, near Morzine in France.

TheSeasonOfTheWitch · 26/08/2018 17:53

Beer is lovely. It's an excellent primary school too.

longwayoff · 26/08/2018 17:54

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 26/08/2018 18:42

one of my good chums at uni was from Twatt but I honestly think there’s one on both the Orkney and Shetland Islands and I can’t remember which one she came from.

I also used to work with a guy who actually WAS from Shitterton, really nice part of Devon it is.

Bloodybridget · 26/08/2018 18:43

Don't know if anyone has mentioned Shoot Up Hill in north west London?
