AIBU to think that my husband is expecting me to be psychic?
We had our tea, he got up to go to the toilet. In the meantime I got DS out of his highchair and went to take my plate out to the kitchen. DS1 then shouts ‘he’s broken it’ so husband who is now out of the loo goes running in to see what’s happened. Turns out that he left his mug on the floor before going to the loo and DS2 has broken it. He then says ‘I only left it there because he was in his highchair, I wouldn’t have if I had known he was coming out’. I had no idea he had left his mug up the side of the sofa on the floor - AIBU to think that he shouldn’t be suggesting that it was even remotely my fault? He does this sort of thing a lot!

He should have put it in the sink where it would have been safe

AnoukSpirit · 25/08/2018 17:50

Which sort of thing? Blaming you for things that aren't your fault? Or leaving stuff in stupid places to get broken?

BiccieJar · 25/08/2018 18:35

Dropping hints that things that happen are my fault

And then insisting he wasn’t trying to blame me when I suggest that it wasn’t my fault

Tell him straight each time he does it.

Only a divvy puts shit on the floor at any time when you have young kids. Need to train that shit out of yourself.

I still dont, just take it out.

I don't think it sounds like he is blaming you, just making excuses. Does it really matter that much? He is probably as annoyed with himself as you are.

Melliegrantfirstlady · 25/08/2018 18:38

It was no ones fault just one of those things

junebirthdaygirl · 25/08/2018 18:39

Are you a little bit too defensive? Its not worth spending a single moment on

CSIblonde · 25/08/2018 18:42

If you leave stuff lying around with small children in a 5mile radius, you really aren't too bright.

woodwaj · 25/08/2018 18:45

My OH does that all the time. He's not blaming me as such it's just he's never ever wrong! It's becomes a "we didn't do this or we forgot that " situation.
