Intentionally annoying your OH

Lighthearted - What things do you do to annoy your OH for your own amusement?

I like to incorrectly 'correct' pronunciations of words while we watch telly purely because it drives him mad. So for example on a cooking programme the chef said 'zest' to which I said to dh, 'it's pronounced j'est, it's a French word' and other such utter bollocks! Amuses me greatly Grin

I also say shop names completely wrong on purpose or put the emphasis in the wrong place like, MatAlan, Tescos's, sporting direct etc.

Please share your little wind up ways Grin

Whenever DM makes Ddad a sandwich she pokes a huge hole through one with her finger. He always complained but once she forgot and he took it back demanding to know where the hole was

Tinkobell · 24/08/2018 21:41

My DH loves the whole Hobbit / lord of the rings genre. I hate it! 😫 Whilst it's on, I keep asking "what's happening now?" And "where is the wizard?" And "whose lost a ring?" And "so, who is Dildo?" Etc etc 😁

delphguelph · 24/08/2018 21:42

He'll say he wants just a small cup of coffee, I put literally a splash in the bottom of an espresso cup.

Mwahahahaha.

RadioDorothy · 24/08/2018 21:42

My DH is much better at winding me up than I him. The other day in Sainsburys I bent down to a low shelf and he blew a really loud raspberry as I bent over. I was faintly amused but the guy standing the other side of me absolutely wet himself laughing.

Shartnado · 24/08/2018 21:44

@Biscusting actually laughed out loud at that Grin a fellow word maker-upperer

My husband arranges the mugs on the hooks in a particular way, but I can’t be arsed. I may just deliberately not follow the accepted way of hanging them up if I empty the dishwasher. The thing that niggles at him most, although he never says anything, is if I pull the end off a french stick and just eat it. Or if I butter anything with the bread knife.

LoveB · 24/08/2018 21:45

These are all way too funny Grin definitely going to do the cereal packet one!

I constantly ask "what's happening?" throughout TV programmes, winds him up rotten 😬

General childish things like saying "why" to everything. Walking weirdly next to him in the street. Talking loudly to him on the train (he HATES that haha)

Reading all these, I think I need to up my game

Tinkobell · 24/08/2018 21:45

.......he also worships "Clarkson" / Top Gear ......I hate Clarkson. 😣 For this, I adopt a head weaving / body rocking technique as observed by stressed -out animals forced to live in captivity. 😁

Shartnado · 24/08/2018 21:48

Mine also worships Clarkson! I like to do irritating impressions of him, but whilst talking about mundane cars when we're on the motorway Grin

Haha I love doing this!

I like to hide and jump out at him in wardrobes or cupboards etc. A few months ago I popped to a neighbours to drop off a parcel and ended up staying for a drink (or 2) as I’d planned too literally walk there and back I didn’t take my phone or anything. DP got in and was convinced I was hiding and crept around opening doors really quickly etc for 45 minutes before I casually walked through the door 😂

I’ve also been known to short a nerf gun through the letterbox as he walks up the path.

Don’t feel too sorry for him, he has emptied buckets of water out the window over me while I do stuff in the garden.

I wouldn’t have our relationship any other way. Love him to death xxx

ilovecardigans · 24/08/2018 21:49

Biscusting your husband sounds exactly like mine! Opening crisp packets at the wrong end or worse still 'untidily' (because it's really important to make sure that the rubbish you put in the bin is neat as ninepence...) drives mine berzerk.

I once opened a packet of Shreddies slightly untidily (I ripped the cardboard a little) and he actually wrote on the packet thus (arrow pointing at offending rip):

'What the f? -->

To which I replied:

PeachyKeenJellymonster · 24/08/2018 21:50

Oh if he is cooking I'll bite holes in the food as he dishes up but before he has finished...makes him crazy.
I hide in cupboards and leap out and now get the dd involved... funny until one weed in his cupboard

Alldaylong1 · 24/08/2018 21:50

If I see the number 55 anywhere, i always loudly announce “quankidy quank”
Dying at this Grin

RadioDorothy · 24/08/2018 21:51

Nerf gun through letterbox. PRICELESS.

GiraffeObsessedBaby · 24/08/2018 21:52

"Quankidy qaunk" seriously endangered my weak and broken pelvic floor muscles 😂

The mispronounced words thing;
when my dh is watching subtitled films I provide a translation service,"do you like my tractor, it is a fine tractor, it is called Brian" in a appropriate accent.
Phoning him up to tell him the cat has just called him a fat fucker
Hiding creepy dolls and clowns in cupboards so they fall on his head when he opens the cupboard door. It gets him every single time.

SmartyPants0 · 24/08/2018 21:54

I miss pair my partners coloured socks... he doesn't say anything to me but I know it drives him crazy 😄

Awks · 24/08/2018 21:55

In the supermarket at the till I put the divider long way down the conveyor belt instead of across. He moves it across and I put it back downwards and just say leave it, I like it better that way Grin

mumsastudent · 24/08/2018 21:56

dh has a habit which drive me nuts: when we do "big" shop & empty car even if I am nearest front door he has to rush forward get the key out & open it (he does this every time even if we are not shopping) its not being chivalrous its just obsessive! So to wind him up I rush forward with key! (what neighbours must think I don't know :)

Escumator · 24/08/2018 21:56

I on purposely pronounce footballers names wrong. Mo salah - mos laya, sturridge - stubridge, firmino - furmingho .. destroys him

Shartnado · 24/08/2018 21:56

I just asked DH what my most annoying wind up is - his answer was, when I joyfully announce "Uppy Uppy!" in a Hyacinth Bouqet voice, the second his alarm for work goes off. I'm a morning person, he most definitely is not Grin

I got a plastic moustache in a Christmas cracker years ago. It got chucked in a drawer and now and then I find it, put it on and pretend I’m Poirot. Annoys him greatly, amuses me no end

I also put his marmite in the fridge - he hates it cold and moans he can’t spread it. He gets me back by putting my chocolate in the fridge

Belindabauer · 24/08/2018 22:02

I call his car Keith, he hates it but I always make a point of talking about Keith in front of his friends.
I always read whilst watching tv. Then I ask dp what's happening, who is that character, why are they doing that and so on.Drives him mad.

I also shove his pillows right to the edge of the bed.
