Was I unreasonable fo fart in bed?

Ok... so let me explain myself!

Last night I went to bed early feeling unwell, my stomach was bloated and I felt really uncomfortable and unsure why. I suffer with IBS so thought I'd maybe had something that upset my stomach.

3am I woke up with a terrible pain in my stomach which felt like trapped wind. I was in so much pain I didn't even want to move from my bed.

So on advice when this has happened before I got myself into a position to relieve the wind... basically head down ass up!

After a couple of seconds of rocking in this position, I farted! It's never felt so good.

So my DP wakes up from the sound of my large fart and tells me I'm disgusting and won't accept my explanation.

WIBU?

My partner once farted so loudly in his sleep that it woke us both up!
I still tease him about it.

Ohhhh now I’m in stitches just thinking about it again.

Do people really not fart in front of their partners? Geez that must be exhausting! I farted in bed the other day, out of the covers but in lane of the fan which distributed the smell to dp quite nicely. Hahaha.

I couldnt have knowingly farted in bed with a partner unless i had no respect for them, you could have gone to the bathroom. With the sick comparison you wouldnt have sicked on the bed but the floor. Sounds like your arse was in his face end in which case you were vile

Sounds like my arse was in his face? Where did you get that idea from. I could barely move from the pain so no, I hadn't spun myself around on the bed to put my arse in his face. I was still laid on my pillow with his head next to mine (his head actually turned the other way) and I stood my arse in the air to release the wind. Would you like a diagram?

Presumably some of those with the prissy reaction on here must have given birth and had a partner in attendance (as is now the cultural expectation) who presumably saw everything down the business end! Their horrified response to the unfortunate OP's completely necessary bedroom fart (she has IBS for goodness sake!) doesn't really add up.

DP and I fart in front of each other all the time. Been together 3 and a half years we have a kid. It would be really weird not to let one rip in front of him. Sometimes we even discuss the smell, sound and longevity of the fart.

Update : DP has just rang me on his lunch break and didn't mention it. For those who were concerned about it ending my relationship, I think I'm safe!

Personally I’d have gone to the bathroom (I have IBS so feel your pain - literally!!) I’m mortified to fart in front of DP but totally accept I’m being ridiculous and DP wouldn’t care one bit!!

DH & I have always found farting amusing. And he’s great when I get constipated, giving me a tummy massage to help ease the pain. I think your DP needs to be more understanding

Oh I'm sorry but I would ltb over that! But I'm gross and thoroughly enjoy the hilarity that is doing a really smelly fart and being as close to DH as possible so he gets the benefit

I have ibs. I know how painful it is. My partner hates me farting but I find it hilarious as does he when he farts. Releasing gas is natural, feel proud of yourself lol

So at 3am you were in bed head down booty up & twerking to encourage the release of a mammoth fart..... If I were woken up by my partner doing that ibs or not - they would be banished to the spare room for life!

Anyone claiming to have never farted in bed is insane. My husband literally farted all night last night and didn't wake up once...

Unfortunately I was awake 🤢 but.... what could I do other than nudge him so his arse was pointing the other direction.

I also have IBD and a mighty fart is something to be celebrated in our house.... it shows your bowels are working...

I'm just waiting for the person who claims to never fart. There's always one.

My ds was born by emcs to new dh so he has never seen it bad down the business end as mentioned!!

I heard that relationship is not real proper one until you can fart infront of each other😂 We now have amazing marriage with lots of laughs and occasional raised eyebrows 😂 I react to wheat so it can get bit Philharmonic-ish....
