I live in a quiet residential area in a block of 10 flats. 8 of the 10 flats are families with children under 2 years. Next to us is another block of flats and our flat is directly above the gate and road that leads into our shared parking space - so we are basically a bridge link between the two blocks of flats.
In the flat next to us there is a young family and they own a couple of very nice cars. Every single evening one of them goes out in one of these cars, has the convertible hood down and blaring music. He obviously has to drive under our flat to get through the gate and it's so loud, it wakes my baby up. They'll then sit there for a few minutes with the music properly blaring. Even with the windows closed and the tv on, you can hear every lyric clearly. It was once so loud, that the walls were actually vibrating. Then about an hour later they'll come back. Same thing, music blaring and will wait on the road directly beneath our flat before driving into the car park.
I confronted the driver and just explained that I have a baby who on the best of days is not a great sleeper and could they lower their music when going through the gates. He just laughed in my face and I'm pretty sure this is why he waits a few minutes on the road each time. The thing is, it's often at 7/8pm so I guess within noise allowance time. Is there anything I can do? AIBU to ask them to have a little bit of consideration?
