To think it's odd that any thread that mentions Christmas or Brexit gets moved immediately

Just that really.

Every AIBU could probably be moved to a specific catergory on MM but they're not.

Just Brexit and Christmas ones do.

Why?

Is it really just a case of 'out of sight out of mind'?

Christmas and Brexit are specific topics so it is quite right that they have their own threads where those who are interested or have something to say specifically on that issue go there!

I suspect the OP is alluding to some sort on MN conspiracy.........Hmm

BMW6

There have been several threads recently moaning that Brexit has its own board.

Bearbehind · 20/08/2018 05:43

I don't think it's a MNHQ conspiracy, I just find it peculiar that so many posters go to so much effort to make these subjects go away.

The easy option would be to just ignore them.

"Petitions move quickly too."

Unless they're about 'the trans problem'

BMW6 · 20/08/2018 07:03

I imagine if posters are asking MN to move threads its because they are sick of the subject and a month or so ago AIBU was overrun with Brexit threads!

OliviaStabler · 20/08/2018 07:11

Lot's of people don't want to be thinking of Christmas yet, hence they get moved.

Every Brexit thread I have ever read is the same. Nothing constructive, just the same old accusations and insults thrown at leavers with some levelled at remainers. The worst ones are the ones designed not to look like a Brexit thread but you click in to find it is Hmm

Exactly bear

runningkeenster · 20/08/2018 09:57

AIBU is also overrun with trans threads but nobody seems to care about those clogging up the discussion board.

BoneyBackJefferson · 20/08/2018 17:10

runningkeenster

Where would you put them?

ToadOfSadness · 20/08/2018 17:19

If I want to see debates on Brexit I search for them. I don't want to see threads about Christmas between January and December so if there is a section for these then I can look there.

I hide threads I don't want to read, or have read and have no need to see again.

I don't report them though, just hide them. Sometimes a petition one is useful as I don't think to look for those, however they usually appear elsewhere so I find them in the end.

There are others that maybe should be moved, but sometimes they are interesting and not a subject that is discussed in multiple threads which are all the same.
