To think we have just entered the very best part of the year

It’s just cool enough to not sweat in light clothing (in London) - yesterday I only broke out on the bus

The trees are turning and the flat grasslands are back to being green after the recent rain

There’s that lovely approaching term time feeling

It’s now the right weather to get outside for proper walks instead of walks in the shade with the dogs

If you like the ‘C’ word then you can start to indulge by buying the ‘get ahead for the C word Good Housekeeping magazine/start shopping/start making crafts’

All of the lovely autumn and winter clothes are either online or coming into the shops

It’s the main time of year when you can take something new up - new classes, new terms, new resolutions (more people take stuff up now than January)

Spring is nice but seems more unpredictable than Autumn to me (well it was this year with that second lot of snow that killed my bulbs). Winter is good, the first part to me but not as soon as it’s January and there’s at least 3 more months of biting cold.

So now, now is the best time imo - the longest run of the best months - the 4 months to Christmas.

I agree OP especially after this summer which has been too hot to do anything.

Usually v golden pleasant Indian summer. perfect weather until late October. Agree 3
With poster's saying it's a tricky month but the thought of Xmas get us through. Xmas then it's down hill from there.
