Would you throw this leaflet away?

I'm in the process of starting my own cleaning business, and I just wanted to ask, if you got a leaflet through your door from a cleaning company, would you throw it away with all the other stuff or contact them if you needed a cleaner?

Just trying to figure out what's the best way to advertise. Thanks Smile

I'd read it to see how the competition operated which might be useful.

I look at things that come through the door and I would keep the leaflet if it's a service I'm likely to need. Otherwise it goes in the bin. Try advertising on the local facebay page.

I may keep if bit was something i was looking for, otherwise it would be the bin. I would possibly ask on fb or in work for recommendations. If using the leaflet i would probably look on fb for reviews too.

It depends tbh - I contacted a handyman the other week as he had put a leaflet through my door and I needed a couple of jobs doing, Similarly with the window cleaner - the flyer came just as I wanted to organise a window cleaner so it was a case of the right time.

I have had other flyers that just go in the recycling though Grin

Hiya, I haven't had a chance to read the full thread, but I thought you might find my experience interesting/helpful (although it is just one person's experience!)

I started cleaning/ironing when DD was 10mo. I printed about 230 leaflets (tip to print the right amount & not waste money on spares - find all the street names on google maps then put them into the Royal Mail postcode finder - it will tell you how many addresses are on each street! Leave spares in cafes etc.)

I got about 15 enquiries, most within a week, but a handful over the next couple of months.

Of those enquiries, half turned into work - some regular and some ad hoc.

I was pleasantly surprised how successful it was!

Good luck :)

Meant to add... I got maybe half a dozen further enquiries from further afield through word of mouth - but I can't drive!
