Just seen the add on the telly. It was based on Ask Me Anything for jobs. Cheeky fuckers. Maybe some people searching them will find MN and end up as the Hulk for their day job.

Well AMA started on Reddit about 8 years ago, more likely for people to end up there

JugglingMonkeys · 15/08/2018 22:11

Did it? I had no idea.

Have I missed out by never having gone on Reddit?

The difference with Reddit is that they verify the people being asked. So there's no 'I'm a complete fantasist, ask me anything '. If you like AMA, the quality on Reddit is probably higher.

GlacindaTheTroll · 15/08/2018 22:21

Loads of sites have AMAs, and have didn't so for years. Agree that Reddit is the best known. MN has onto cooed them very recently.

namechange2pointoh · 15/08/2018 22:25

Not a new thing.

JugglingMonkeys · 15/08/2018 22:29

Ah well, it was new to me. Might go and look some of them up.

I wouldn't bother with MN AMA as it's clear a good proportion are moronic fantasists.

You know Reddit got Obama, Gates and Snoop Dogg to do an AMA, right?

AnalUnicorn · 16/08/2018 05:03

Reddit is much less politically correct and uncensored than MN. It’s refreshing.

Monty27 · 16/08/2018 05:06

It's old and narcisstic boring. I never bother reading them.

Notmyrealname85 · 16/08/2018 12:48

Google “Reddit AMA” and on the reddit page search by “best” or “top” to get Obama and other famous ones

MissionItsPossible · 16/08/2018 13:06

What caused the surge in AMA on here? It’s been going on for ages but has only recently become popular on MN

The crematorium one was the first I knew and it was just so helpful. I think there was a funeral director shortly after and it seemed to take off from there.
