To be worried I'll get food poisoning from this?

I just ate a scotch egg that was brought last night by a family member. Just realised said family member brought it in their work town, which is about a 90 minute drive away and then forgot to put it in the fridge for about an hour to two after getting home last night.

Am I likely to get food poisoning from this? I have Emetophobia so it would be a nightmare!

No, you'll be fine.

CrispsAndDip · 15/08/2018 12:36

It will be fine! Unless its really hot where you are I guess.

I have eaten worse

TheConstantMoaner · 15/08/2018 12:36

I highly doubt it.

ArmySal · 15/08/2018 12:37

You'll be fine, don't worry about it.

MirandaWest · 15/08/2018 12:37

I really wouldn’t think twice about that

glintandglide · 15/08/2018 12:39

Wouldn’t even consider it

lubeybooby · 15/08/2018 13:09

t'will be fine

Anxious2niteaaah · 15/08/2018 13:11

You will be fine, plenty of people put them in picnics or packed lunch where they sit for hours before being eaten..relax you will be fine,

apriljune12 · 15/08/2018 13:13

Forget it! Don’t think yourself into anything. Do something with the rest of the day. Forget it.

spanishwife · 15/08/2018 13:16

Of course not - they are picnic fodder e.g. can be out of the fridge for hours with no issue. Don't be a baby!

RandomObject · 15/08/2018 13:18

Had scotch eggs at picnics many times, left outside in the sweaty sunshine. No problems at all. I ate one at a festival that had been in my tent for three days - and I'm a microbiologist!

HelpmeobiMN · 15/08/2018 13:28

You’ll be absolutely fine. That’s not very long out of the fridge and the meat in a scotch egg is highly salted so well preserved.

If you can, stop thinking about it or you will make yourself psychosomatically queasy!

ilovesooty · 15/08/2018 13:58

Highly unlikely.

Peaspleaselouise · 15/08/2018 15:34

My neighbour is a caterer, they catered for my party a few years ago. They said there was a 4 hour window before which things start to potentially cause a problem (in reality it’s probably a lot longer). You’ll be fine, promise (from a fellow emetophobe)

bsbabas · 15/08/2018 15:38

Bet it tasted lovely

Lisabel · 21/08/2018 00:21

Oh just realised I didn't reply to your lovely replies last week- thank you so much- you definitely helped! I must have forgotten to click 'post message'. Happy to report I didn't contract food poisoning!
