To ask for your opinion on botox

I've never had any sort of procedure and if I'm honest was very much against it until recently. Turns out two of my friends have had botox and actually, it looks really good and has turned my head. I used to consider it as putting poison into your face but am now looking at my wrinkly forehead and thinking maybe. What are your experiences of it? Am I being niaeve that it always looks good?

I'm snorting at utterly bizarre. I do not look bizarre Hmm
I wouldn't have fillers etc but I hated looking at the lines on my face that didn't match my age and every time I saw them it reminded me of the pain
I'm a model and trust me photographers don't book you if you look bizarre. I look like a completely normal person

I'd love it in my forehead. I have nightmares and migraines so look crumpled most of the time.
I've had it in my bottom for fissures. Just my luck.

The way some people get so het up about this stuff is so odd to me. You might not like the way it looks but the person having it done might like it and theirs is the only opinion that matters really.

Don't see why people are so against it. If you don't want it, don't have it. What other people do is their business.

The fact that you can buy botox across the counter at superdrug now actually sickens me.

Hmm don't get it then.

It's not as simple as buying an anti wrinkle cream. You still have to be of a certain age and have a consultation with a qualified nurse!

So what's the difference between having it done by a qualified person at Superdrug vs getting it done at one of the hundreds of clinic throughout the UK who offer it? Other than the cheaper price? Which is a good thing?

marsbarsandtwix · 15/08/2018 21:10

Well I suppose it's normalising something which up until fairly recently would've been considered quite weird isn't it, ie injecting deadly toxin into your face to paralyse bits of it. But imo each to their own, if people want to spend loads on that then fair play to them.

It’s registered, qualified medical staff that will administer it in one branch (at the moment, it will be rolled out to other branches). But again, what’s the issue if it’s being done properly?

It really doesn’t cost as much as people think. I spend £200 a year.

And I don’t look “utterly bizarre”. What a stupid thing to say.
