This truly beats all comers in the terrible bridesmaid dress world championships.

NotAgainYoda Loads of people look miserable in photos. It means nothing. Unfair to mock someone's entire wedding because of it. My sister looks miserable in my wedding photos, and she chose her own BM dress. I know celebrities need a thick skin and it comes with the role and all that, but I can't help thinking that my heart would break if loads of people on the internet were criticising my wedding, and thinking that I hadn't considered my friends at all. Really we have no idea at all what they think.

ooodile · 13/08/2018 19:30

I get that it's all planned to the last detail to look unplanned, but I still prefer it to trussed up women in too-tight dresses and perma-tan.

I know it's "fashion" and "try hard", but I can't help liking it.

Probably wouldn't be much fun to go out for drinks with such a self-aware bunch, but I'd like to imagine myself fitting in, dressed in a big giant bath puff, swirling around with a look of cool disdain at the poor people who dress in jeans and jumpers. Grin

NotAgainYoda · 13/08/2018 19:32

may

She's not a celebrity. She's a model, and she won't be weeping about what randoms on the internet are saying because she's done a lovely advertising puff for a dress designer.

Toyboysrus · 13/08/2018 19:34

Surely that's not the real wedding, it must be the rehearsal and they turned up in their comfy old nighties they wear to do the housework.

The flowers are hideous they look like weeds that grow alongside a motorway, could be some roadkill lurking in there.

MyDirtyLittleSecret · 13/08/2018 19:39

mayandjuniper loads of people wouldn't be criticising your wedding on the internet because, presumably, you are not a public figure who makes her living as a walking advertisement for fashion designers. This woman is a model who probably got paid for photos spreads by various fashion magazines, enough to cover all the costs of the wedding as well as probably paying little or next to nothing for the dresses because the designer will be loving the free publicity for her spring collection. Most of her bridesmaids are also models and used to wearing outlandish clothes as part of their job and I'm sure they viewed it as just another of the same. Her sister? I don't know for sure but it is a very unflattering outfit and she does not look comfortable or happy to me.

Doobigetta · 13/08/2018 20:17

Way funnier than the hideous dresses are the fawning Emperor’s new clothes-style fashion articles gushing about how fabulous they are. Us taking the piss is just returning balance to the universe, and is necessary.

SheWoreBlueVelvet · 13/08/2018 20:35

Agreed Doobigetta. Obviously it's super cool to wear completely different stuff to 99% of the population getting married.
Does it actually look nice on...er no. Not really.

Funny enough we were looking at wedding party dresses from the 70's over the weekend. Same sort of thing. Funny old world.

Sedona123 · 13/08/2018 21:02

I also agree with Doobigetta that it's all Emporer's new clothes. Apparently achingly cool, but in reality all of the dresses and flowers are just really ugly and weird, including the bride's.

itchyknees · 13/08/2018 22:27

Mayandjuniper I think one thing we can say with absolute certainty is that she has “considered” her friends! Even Helena only looks good from the neck up! And god only knows what the sister did when they were kids to deserve a rig-out like that!

They look like they’ve all conferred, agreed the dresses are shocking and that the only thing to do is get slaughtered. I bet the after-photos were even funnier!

Well it just goes to show...

itchyknees · 13/08/2018 22:32

Is it my eyesight or does the bride’s dress have some sort of coloured splashes on it? Like it’s ran in the wash with something?

MervynBunter · 13/08/2018 22:33

Never heard of any of them. Where are they famous? I see the wedding took place in Copenhagen.

FabulousTomatoes · 13/08/2018 22:37

Oooodile i quite like it too, but I am a total sucker for Scandi design and I think I ‘get’ the theme here. It’s wholesome, fun and down to Earth. Danes aren’t known to be big smilers anyway, they’re too busy being themselves!

Kpo58 · 13/08/2018 22:45

At least none of the bridesmaids will need to change when getting ready for bed.

Pinkvoid · 13/08/2018 22:48

There’s plenty of ways a bridezilla would ensure the bridesmaids didn’t upstage her but this takes the biscuit Grin.

StripySocksAndDocs · 13/08/2018 22:57

Who is the unhappy Mormon with the impotent flowers?

BusterTheBulldog · 13/08/2018 23:07

You know how people make a wedding dress out of loo roll / scraps of material as a hen do ‘game’? I genuinely thought that is what was going on here at first glance. Crazy.

MistyMeena · 13/08/2018 23:15

Ophelia undrowned

mypoosmellsofroses · 13/08/2018 23:20

I’m not a big fan of most wedding dresses I see at the moment, and agree that it’s refreshing to not see a bride squeezed into a strapless dress with the heavy makeup etc but there’s a million better options than these frocks. It’s not like this is the default option if you want something different! Was looking at some old Laura Ashley wedding dresses recently, they looked floaty and comfy but also flattering.

Cawfee · 13/08/2018 23:24

My best mate did this to me. Made me wear a dress too big and a really pale lipstick so I looked like I was auditioning for a part in “one flew over the cuckoos nest”. Hideous. Now I’m old I look back at photos wistfully as it was kind of funky/cool but at the time I hated her for it and deliberately scowled in every photo!

CSIblonde · 13/08/2018 23:28

It's achingly high fashion. But the Bride still looks like she went thru her great, great granny's nightie drawer. Each to their own, but I'd rather look back & see a timeless, figure enhancing dress, than a white tent nightie.

BalloonSlayer · 14/08/2018 09:08

The one on the boat looks like they’re escaping some sort of cult on an isolated island.

Is that the cult ran by Keeeeeeiiiithhh from the car rental advert?
