I cannot stand the expression “hubby” I have no reason for this at all it just makes me cringe.

WHY?! “My husband, my partner, my other half” all fine “hubby” NOooooooo! I actually secretly judge people who use it Blush

OP posts:

Tummy
Cuppa
Biccie
Tiny human
Lil man/lady/dude
Hubby

Teaching moment

...and that's ok

So many others but these are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. "Tiny human" is the worst. It's awful.

My friend said this term in a conversation about her daughter who is starting to develop. It made me feel quite nauseous!

BigPinkBall · 13/08/2018 00:24

I hate the word partner unless it’s referring to a business partner, it always sounds to me like the person saying it isn’t sure if I’m homosexual or not. It’s either boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife there is no inbetween.

jaxhwc · 13/08/2018 00:58

Nursing

For people who can't bring themselves to say breast-feeding, ugh!

'Delicious' - CRINGEWORTHY Angry

'Lol' - That is the first time in my life I have ever typed it.

'Hun' - Fake.

'Ta' - Well if you can't be bothered to say thank you then why say anything at all?

Eat 'up'/Eat it 'up'/Ate it 'up' - What is the necessity of the 'up?!'

'Nosh' - JUST NO.

IceBearRocks · 13/08/2018 03:07

I've not lived in Liverpool for about 18 years and when I go back everyone talks about a lid!?!
Y'all right there lid?

What the actual fuck????

LilMadAgain · 13/08/2018 03:21

'dip' instead of sauce. My mouth goes dry and my blood pressure rockets, it's the strangest bloody thing.

gretchinweeners · 13/08/2018 03:21

'Could of' instead of 'could have'
Hubby
Hubs
All the DP, DD, DD abbreviations
Bubs
The phrase 'wine o clock'

gretchinweeners · 13/08/2018 03:23

Also when people say 'let's change your bum' to a baby - you change their NAPPY

SenecaFalls · 13/08/2018 03:34

Gubernatorial. Luckily I don’t often need to use it.

This made me laugh. Don't come to my state in the US for the next three months. We are in the middle of a hotly-contested gubernatorial election. After November, we won't have to use the word much though. Smile

serendipitintea · 13/08/2018 03:51

Tummy and poorly Angry

PomPomtheGreat · 13/08/2018 04:50

My little family. Our little family.

Vom!

AtlantaGinandTonic · 13/08/2018 05:05

Hun - unless discussing the actual frigging Huns.
Serviette - hate that word.
Congealed - yuck.
Fit - when used as a synonym for attractive. Someone could be attractive and physically unfit.
Yank - to describe all Americans when 'Yankee' is generally someone from the northeast/New England.

I think that's about it. I can tolerate most things.

AnnieRich · 13/08/2018 06:33

Susurration

DottyBlue2 · 13/08/2018 07:04

Masticating.

Katrina12 · 13/08/2018 09:07

Not a word but a phrase, typically ive heard this used by the younger generations - 'not gonna lie' prefixing the next statement they make. Gahhhh Angry I didn't assume you were going to lie!!!!!! What useless nonsensical twoddle

Clionba · 13/08/2018 09:24

Making memories.
