AIBU to ask what sort of chair this is?

My parents want to replace several kitchen chairs that are finally beyond repair. We're having a hard time finding replacements online. I found some that were similar (but far too modern) which were described as "Windsor chairs". I hoped including the word Windsor might make searching for them easier. Sadly, it's become clear that there are several different designs that are all described as Windsor.

Does anyone know how you would describe this chair to get useful search results? Or, better yet, actually know where we could buy some?

I think that kind of chair would come under the heading of ' classic kitchen chair ' tbh.

LillyLollyLoLo · 12/08/2018 12:49

It’s a farmhouse chair

BeesKnees9 · 12/08/2018 12:49

Spindle back chair maybe? Plenty on eBay (new!)

FinnJuhl · 12/08/2018 12:50

Try Spindle Back kitchen chair

AnnieRich · 12/08/2018 12:51

I think it is a farmhouse chair, too.

Farmhouse chair. The shop I bought mine from has closed so I don't know which shop sells them.

Bluntness100 · 12/08/2018 12:57

It's actually a farmhouse spindleback. 🤣

Google and you'll find loads.

Thank you all so much. Those look very suitable, Justaweeone, and if they're not, I have the right terms with which to search for others

My parents are now hugely impressed by Mumsnet. In the past I have told them what a great forum this is, but they've never seen it in action before.

My parents have bought two of the ones you linked to, Justaweeone. If they're as good as they look they'll probably buy a couple more. The ones you found aren't finished - waxed, stained, etc. This is good for what's wanted, because they can be stained to match the ones already in the kitchen.

Charity shops that do furniture have chair sets like that...
